Crispy batter, butter soft potato in the middle , with free bits on top.. rally a meal in itself , but I got one to try and review, and happy i was too. “I recall writing a bad review many years ago, I can't quite remember what happened, I think it was something to do with the wrong order. However, in recent times they seem to have improved their service. I have gone in for my takeaway before, and it's a little bit of a 5-10 minute wait which is rather annoying because I don't class that as 'fast food' but I have had longer waits. My reason for this review is due to my most recent visit on Monday when we had a downpour. I decided to go through the drive thru, I went to pay, and the lady literally put down the payment machine and handed over my food. She was a lovely woman too, great customer service and very welcoming.”

“The best party entertainer. We used Joe for our son’s 6th birthday and the kids were entertained non stop for 2 hours. Their faces watching the magic tricks was so nice to see and I have had so many messages saying their children have gone home doing magic with their gift sets I purchased as party of the party bags. It was also great watching the parents get involved with the disco. 100% recommend.”

“Called for refreshments after a walk today. Didn't book as we didn't know what time we would arrive, but a table was found for us. Great coffee (I love a strong latte, but it is also available in medium and weak). We all had toasted teacakes - very nice, and excellent prices. Lovely owners and staff. Will be back.”

“Jem’s Pit Stop, and Batley, West Yorkshire is an American themed diner. We were driving to Birstall and thought to stop for a a bite in the afternoon and when we were read the tweets but reviews we didn't believe there is place like this in Batley so decided to try it and we weren't disappointed but glad to see it. Look at the photos that will explain it. It took us a long time to explore the place and see the motorbikes and hidden treasures of the place. Then we headed to our table to eat and that was good a very good menu plenty varieties for different diets and people of all ages. The staff, service and quality of food all great.”

“I was so close to giving up on finding good pizza in Wakefield. When the top-rated options are Pizza Joy, a takeaway using frozen bases, and Papa John’s, a mainstream chain, it’s hard not to lose hope. I had. But I gave it one last try—enter Basebox. This is the best pizza in Wakefield, and honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the UK. I’m not sure what “style” it is, but I’ve only found something similar once before, all the way up in Durham. If the quality stays consistent, this will be my go-to pizza spot from now on. My only minor criticism is that the dip pots are a little too small—one barely covers a slice—but at 75p a pot, I can let that slide. Congratulations, Basebox, on beating the odds.”

“Whenever I go up to Leeds, I try to visit this Fish and Chips shop since the fish and the batter is really good. It is up there with Murt and the other one in Wakefield. Beef dripping frying in these northern chippies really makes a difference compare to the ones down south.”

“Great place for shoppers to stop for a bite to eat. We ordered the Signature Tawa for 2 and the papri chaat. We thoroughly enjoyed all the items. The curry on the tawa was a little spicy for my liking (I wish they'd ask for spice level because me and my auntie couldn't eat anymore of the curry) Next time I'd probably ask them to make it mild. Service is great and we'll definitely visit again next time we're at Bradford plaza.”

“Had my nails and a spray tan done by Kelly on Wednesday last week. Honestly she’s amazing! My nails were Leeds united themed and Kelly took the challenge on perfectly a tribute to my late father in law! Amazing! And my spray tan is still as brown as it was the day after I had it done! Very quick and put me at ease and didn’t laugh when I’d not shaved my legs haha! Thanks Kelly c you again soon!”

“By far the best barber I've ever been to. After moving to the area I tried The Barber's Club after seeing all the great reviews, and I was definitely not disappointed. Chris was friendly and enthusiastic when discussing the kind of hairstyle I wanted, and displayed a level of expertise and pride in his work that I've never encountered at other barbers I've been to. Booking appointments is easy via the Booksy app, and when I was unable to attend a scheduled appointment I was easily able to reschedule based on the day's availability. I can't recommend these guys enough!”

“Stunning! My friend and I drove here for a day out (interior decor nerds) from Liverpool and it didn’t disappoint. The one thing I will say is that we had expected there to be a bit more design but it’s really more or less exclusively furnishings. Would have LOVED some kitchen/bathroom/tile shops (but that may very well be our bad for not Googling beforehand, hence it hasn’t lowered the score). Overall the entire place is stunning, the staff were very helpful, informed and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into decoration/design or need inspiration for a reno!!”

“Fabulous looking pub with a great choice of food. Had the Holy Cow Pie with chips and peasant it was beautiful. Plenty of steak and mushroom filling and lively pastry. The chips were wonderful and could be swapped for mash if preferred. Had the warm chocolate fudge cake for dessert and I can recommend that too. Thank you very much to the staff who were attentive but not invasive.”
