“What a amazing place the Persian coffee and the Persian omelette was fantastic. The staff and the atmosphere is lovely. if your planning a tip to Hebden bridge definitely give it a visit.”
“Everything was perfect. Really nice atmosphere, great food. Couldn’t have been happier”
“Really recommend the food was amazing, especially the truffle fries! Staff are so friendly and helpful and service was quick. The bar is also really nice and does lovely cocktails. Will definitely be going again!”
“OMG. I had been recommended this little gem by a colleague who lives locally. And as described the best Pizza around, although I haven't tried them all, I wasn't disappointed. Perfect service from a wonderful family business, even better pizza and to top it off the gorgeous lady put a free bottle of lager in the bag to accompany my meal. I will 100% be back the next time I'm in town. Don't miss the opportunity to sample a little slice of Italy here in Leeds. After several bad meals this is just what I needed before I head home tomorrow. Thank you so much for delivering what a customer pays their hard earned money for Chris xxx”
“Fantastic as always. Family day. Great selection of food. Loved the meatballs. Kids eat for free. Great value for money. Fantastic wine recommendation. Vaughn was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and friendly.”
“The pizzas are fantastic, called in today on way home to Doncaster and got a 12 inch deep pan meat feast with garlic butter and jalapenos ....wow im really impressed wish i lived local”
“Absolutely loved my visit to Portside! The fish was fresh and flaky with a perfectly crispy batter, and the chips were hot and tasty. Staff were super friendly and the service was quick. Great value for money — easily one of the best chippies in Leeds. Highly recommend!”
“The Block is a great spot for pizza, we popped in for a quick bite and a pint with not much time to spare. You can select which pizzas you want varying from £4-5 and they do you a large rectangular slice cut into 2 (we shared). As a recommendation, it's the perfect spot for a quick bite before doing something else for the evening. Staff were friendly, pizza was nice and they had good music on and a good selection of drinks, including brooklyn lager on draught!”
“Sushi Bar HanaMatsuri is an unassuming, intimate, gem of an establishment. Today I experienced the Omakase menu. It is worth noting to anyone unfamiliar with the concept, that Omakase means “I’ll leave it to you”. In other words, the chef will prepare a series of dishes over the course of a meal combining the chef’s experience, knowledge and what product is in season. From my experience today I can say that it is clear that chef prioritises sourcing only fresh, seasonal, high quality ingredients. Having visited many Japanese restaurants and sushi bars across the UK I can say without a doubt, you should come to Sushi Bar HanaMatsuri if you want to experience high quality, authentic, Japanese sushi. Thankyou for your hospitality and for the delicious food. It was an absolute pleasure. Until next time!”
“We stopped for Pizza at Meanwood Tavern. Great pizza, not Neapolitan like it used to be in Oakwood (fluffy airy bases) but still delicious. We will return”
“This place is a hidden gem .the pizzas are amazing and an absolute bargain .try the affogato it’s really good .We were the only people in the place but this place should be packed out it’s just missing street appeal .Ill definitely be going back and I couldn’t recommend more.”
“Great experience, the food was delicious! Definitely worth a visit, the dough balls and pizzas were fantastic! We will be going back for sure!”
“The pizzas are sensational. Always hot, full of flavour and never really a long wait. The chef is super friendly and kind too!”
“I loved the poke bowl and can’t believe I never tried it in my first year !!! Waki maki is my favourite place to eat on campus at the university of leeds and I love the amount of choice there is. I’d definitely recommend adding mango to your poke bowl next time it’s so good!!!! And the price is so good too for such fresh food. That combined with how good it tastes and the location makes it so perfect, and the staff is always friendly and nice - they even remembered my name!”
“Ordered from here tonight as a change to all the usual ones we go for in the area and it was superb! Delivery within half an hour, price reasonable, service when it arrive a call to say it was here perfect having a dog and baby in bed, food smashed it! Nothing but praise we both enjoyed it and will be ordering her more often. Keep it up!”
“A friend brought us here in the pouring rain. We were originally going to the other japanese restaurant for sushi, but decided to stay for their tea. We got the Yame Gyokuro and Kuromame cha. As my wife is a tea fanatic, I believe we can say that they were certainly high quality. The waiter said that the Kuromame was roasted in-house, and you can tell a lot of care was put into these teas as their flavours were superb and not very tannic. The yame gyokuro has a lovely umami taste and leaves a wonderful aftertaste in your mouth, and the kuromame cha, for a lack of a better term, tasted like a really light coffee without the bitterness. The waiter also recommended their mochi to go with it, and we got the yuzu mochi and matcha mochi. The matcha was perfectly sweet and done well. Sometimes restaurants burn their matcha but this was not the case. The yuzu mochi really stood out to me as a citrus lover. It had the brightness of an orange, and was not too overpowering, much like a gentle lemon zest. I highly recommend trying this. as it is one of my new favourites. After the tea and snacks we decided to stay. We had okonomiyaki and gyudon, which are something me and my partner make often at home. We're very picky eaters, so we were very surprised that it was delicious and tasted similar to the way we prepare them. I wasn't expecting the sake taste in the gyudon, and it definitely elevated the flavour. The okonomiyaki was equally as delicious and well cooked, although I wish we could have ordered a protein with it! We also ordered fried oysters with their yuzu tartar, and as a first time oyster eater, I want to say that they are extremely delicious and could not recommend them more. There is a gentle crisp crunch on the outside and then a nice tanginess from the tartar, and they just melt in your mouth. For dessert we had a matcha cream roll with strawberries, and this was also very well made. The matcha cake itself was not too sweet, and was balanced out by the sweetness of the cream and strawberries. They even reserved this cake for after we finished eating as there was only two left! Our waiter Homme was very kind to us and made sure that we were served well. We learned a little bit about York today as we do not live here, and their service to us was wonderful. They also explained in detail about our dishes and the way they are made. Truly made our night! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy schedule to talk to us. ☺️ We sat on the outside garden as well which has heaters to keep us warm and a lovely cozy japanese scenery of plants. The atmosphere here is lovely. I also strongly appreciate their small collection of artisan goods. I love when restaurants collaborate with independent artists! They had lots of essential japanese cooking goods as well, and I also grabbed some of their high quality tea on the way out. What was a bit of a miserable night turned into a great experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better Halloween evening. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Japanese home-style cooking. Thank you Homme!”
“I like the fish and chips really much - It gave me authentic and delightful taste. taste and texture is really balanced and also I’m really satisfied with cardigan Fish Bar.”
“Visited Oba on a Saturday night and had a great experience! The restaurant is beautifully done, really stylish with a great atmosphere. Tried chicken kimbap for the first time and absolutely loved it. The sushi was also on point, especially the chicken katsu roll and the California roll. Super fresh and well put together. Overall, a fantastic spot in Leeds. Would definitely come back again, perfect for a night out or a chill post work dinner!”
“We don't find ourselves in Leeds often but when we do we always visit Doner Summer. The food is excellent - the portions, the FLAVOURS so so good. I had the vegan spice bag and the flavour was great. The texture of the fried chicken was wonderful, and I really appreciated the softer tofu chunks for a variety of textures in the plate. My partner got a kebab and he devoured it. Got some tater tots to share and they were also the perfect crunchy but soft on the inside texture. Their own sodas are also incredibly tasty - i have a soft spot for the elderflower and apple one! The staff are always prompt and attentive, and I appreciate being asked if I'd like a to go box for left overs (we only had some tater tots left and were travelling so passed, but still a nice gesture to help combat waste as well). The price is also very fair for the quality and portions. Unsure when we will next be Leeds-way but if we are we look forward to being back again!”
“Went here with friends, excellent service. The "make it yourself" meat and fish platter was the highlight. Perfectly spiced.”
“This is our favourite cafe to eat in when we come into Wakefield. The bagels are delicious with a good selection of fillings and bread including gluten free. Today we had a Manhattan and a Moroccan .”
“Amazing food and service and value for money. Must try and will return”
“Very polite staff, and delicious and clearly freshly prepared food. My wife and I felt like we were going back into a Shokudo in Japan. The plum sake was excellent. Oishii!”
“This is the best place to go for an early dinner with your toddler. The food literally comes out within minutes of walking through the door, which means that our hungry little boy doesn’t have a melt down after swimming. The food is delicious as well x”
“We visited Darvish Restaurant in Leeds and we ordered kebabs — they were incredibly delicious and full of authentic Persian flavour. The meat was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked,it truly reminded me of the amazing food back home. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had a cozy, traditional atmosphere.I absolutely recommend Darvish Restaurant!”
“Had lunch here with my Japanophile teenage son who rated the food "the best Japanese food he's had in the UK". It was great though, very simple, traditional, but full of flavour. The service was nice, attentive without being overbearing but with a smile and a laugh, and our plates food were demolished in no time. A good sign was the number of Japanese customers dining, which to me is a real indication of the quality and authenticity of the food. Definitely will be paying Shiitakeya another visit next time in York.”
“Amazing food, it was really tasty and full of flavour and was great value for money, portion sizes are very good including side dishes. Friendly and attentive staff, no wait in being seated (Thursday mid-day) and gave good recommendations. Very clean and nice looking restaurant and lots of condiments to add on to food. Drink selection was also very good, the menu was a bit hard to read with the background but that's the only issue I had, a menu redesign would be much appreciated with higher contrast and some pictures to show some dishes, alternatively you can look at the online menu too.”
“I love this restraunt/takeaway. I can't fault it at all. The staff are friendly, service brilliant and food is delicious. It's my favourite place to eat out in Hebden Bridge. The kitchen is open and you can see them making your food. They use quality ingredients, freshly made and I can trust what I'm eating is made with care. I will carry on going to origano and hope they'll be there for years to come.”
“Not from the local area but was told this place makes the best burgers in the area so had to gave it try. The burger was excellent, you can add various toppings/sauces etc. The chips with spice seasoning were also excellent, a large portion, lightly crispy, soft and fluffy inside served piping hot. Everything was cooked fresh in front of you, grilled onions were made fresh and everything was of excellent quality and packaged well to takeaway. The place was spotlessly clean and excellent service too. Wish it was in my local area.”
“Loved the food here .... Never felt rushed and all round good friendly experience for our first time. Will visit again when we are up north for definite!!!!! Xx”
