They have given me the strength to start to heal from my complex trauma through a variety of different therapeutic techniques. After many years of poor experiences with counsellors, psychiatrists and other therapists, I really had lost all hope and confidence in the mental health profession and I had accepted that my struggles would be present forever and I had to just manage them, trying to survive, every day painful.     “All in all we had a very pleasant weekend. We stayed from 29th Nov to 1st Dec. The lady who booked us in on Saturday afternoon was welcoming and informed us of times (and booked us in) for dinner in the beautiful glass walled dining room. The Sunday evening meal was much better than the Saturday (Turkey so dry I was served a spoonful of bits). On Sunday all was cooked well. Also I must mention the lady who waited on our table Becky. She was efficient and pleasant.”

    “A phycologist friend of mine recommended John in 2019 to me. I'd been struggling for quite some time, not knowing what was wrong, and crying all the time. After meeting John he suggested schema therapy with imagery rescripting. I didn't really know how it would work, and at 40 thought that it would be difficult to change things I've been doing all my life. From the first session, I was shocked what came out and the emotions that I had. As each session went on, John was able to get more and more out of me and willing to challenge me when needed. Sometimes the sessions were really tough, but John helped me through them, it felt like he was feeling my emotions with me. We'd look at sad memomories and happy ones to understand the impact they had in my life. With the therapy I realised the things I'd been doing all my life that didn't help me, such as pleasing others or taking on board what other peoples views were. Coming to the end of my therapy, I seemed to be able to work on myself with very little prompts from John, and it was that point I had carried out the work I needed yo and could take over this myself, it was so emotional as you think you'll never be able to do it alone. But John helped me realise I'd got this and he was there if really needed but that I'd been doing it myself so was time for the sessions to finish. I now do work on myself as and when required, but it comes natural and I don't even know I'm doing it. I highly recommend John, and so grateful I was introduced to him.”
