“Discovered this little gem of a cafe off of recommendations from work colleagues. Now visit several times a week. The toasted sandwiches are amazing, full of filling and so fresh! Staff are great, very friendly and welcoming. Must be going there too much as I walked in and they said “the usual” tried several times to get a picture of my breakfast toastie but it didn’t last too long”

“What a gem! We’re staying nearby and this was our closest takeaway when we couldn’t be bothered to cook. Ordered 3 different main courses and 3 different sides. All were excellent but the noodles were exceptional. Had seen that free prawn crackers were on offer after spending a certain amount but failed to notice until after paying that free spring rolls were also available for a higher spend but our bill was 10p short! The staff gave us the freebee anyway. Friendly staff, great food & generous portions at a reasonable price. Highly recommended”

“Lovely brunch! We go most weekends and have done since 2019 and will continue for as long as it is open. My little boy is a fussy eater, but he loves the pancakes and scrambled eggs.”

“We went today for a sunday roast. The food was beautiful, a good portion of lamb, potatoes and vegtables were perfectly cooked and the biggest yorkshire pudding which was lovely. Jessica served us, she was very attentive and was helpful as i have a medical condtion, so some foods i cannot eat. The service was quick, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and cosy. The price was very good value for money. I would highly recommend the montgomery, and we will visit again very soon. The staff are a credit to them.”

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything was really well priced — but what really stood out was the service. Levi was absolutely brilliant: friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely made us feel looked after from start to finish. You can tell he really cares about the customer experience. “Old local friend! A perfect mixture of a Bar, a Restaurant,and a Coffee Shop - with a leafy terrace. Food is delicious, always cooked fresh, sourced locally whenever possible, by a proper Chef! Staff is trained, professionally trained is what I mean, with an ever present friendly touch. Menu is reasonably priced. I can’t comment on the wines myself, but I’m assured by my (well over 18!!) daughters that the cocktails are expertly made by the men / women behind the Bar… And the biscuits accompanying your coffee are home made….None of the cellophane wrapped skinny oval shaped “industrial skinny biscuits “!!! Busy at weekend, dogs are welcome, I recommend it to everyone! Never regretted any visit, quick coffee or proper food with friends…”

“Fabulous food, I requested a particular dish not on the menu, and the chef made it beautifully. The only mistake made was a drink ordered as a dessert arrived with the meal. Unfortunately, it was not offered to be removed and a fresh one given at the appropriate time. The atmosphere and ambience were relaxed and friendly.”

Sadly we called in on a Wednesday evening which coincided with Bert's Bingo which was good fun with people running all round the pub but it was too loud...too early and not good when people are still dining...but I will say if I wasn't dining I would have probably enjoyed it....maybe next time Bert's Bingo may be a drinks night and dining will be on another day as the food was lovely.”

“My husband and I visited today, we haven’t been here for years but we were instantly welcomed by the friendly ladies that work there. I had the hunters chicken which was delicious, compliments to the chef. Our food arrived very promptly, we will definitely be coming back again soon!”

“Ordered a take away on just eat and the portions were so generous and at a good price. The food was tasty with one of the best side salads I've had from a take away. Just a shame there was no fridge in my hotel and I had to throw some out as there was way too much for one and it was so tasty.”

“This place is amazing. The decor inside is precise and gorgeous. The staff we met were polite and so attentive. The food and drinks were served quickly and what I had, chicken satay skewers, was the very very very nice! There's also something for everyone as the menu is is about 6 pages! They do chicken nuggets and chips for those not fussed on trying the Chinese food. The food was reasonably priced. Not extortionate and not too cheap, a fair price that I could agree with. The music was calm and not played too loud like some places do and the table was laid out beautifully. Honestly I don't think I really have a bad thing to say about it. I am disappointed by the comments about staff not understanding English that I've seen in other reviews. Personally I thought their English was very good provided we spoke clearly (not mumbled) and in all honesty to have a go at that would be ridiculous when going to a Chinese restaurant! Hearing the staff speak mandarin arround us added to authenticity of the place and we didnt have any communication issues at all and if we had it wouldnt have been a problem! Honestly though the food is nice and the decor is beautiful, genuinely beautiful. Definitely worth trying if you haven't been before and ill be coming back and recommending it to others alike!”
