“Dropped by on a Friday evening and enjoyed an excellent meal, served promptly by friendly staff. Our dog was welcomed, toilet facilities were clean and well maintained and there was plenty of space to find a quiet corner. Only drawback is the limited parking locally.”

Food was brilliant with great portions and variety, bit expensive though. Service was perfect with really friendly staff always good for a chat. Overall amazing friendly warm place for good food and drink.”

Food allergies and care were taken very seriously, on top of there being many options should you have allergies. Amazing food to top it off. Highly recommend to you all. “An amazing vegan experience (was there with a non-vegan also). So so many vegan options on the menu that there was almost too much choice! (Almost - in truth, you can never have too many vegan options - I’m just not used to having so much choice that I ordered too much food and had to take some away!) I ordered 4 dishes off the lunch mezza selection; the Hummus Beirute, spicy cauliflower, moussaka and the falafel. The hummus was so fresh and proper homemade traditional style. The cauliflower was probably a standout favourite for me, but genuinely all the food was fantastic and I’d highly recommend it. The staff were so friendly and helpful; very knowledgeable about their vegan dishes and pointing out their own personal favourites. The restaurant vibe is really traditional Lebanese and I loved the decor.”

“We were 4 people and each had different meals, and we all agreed that the food was excellent, with a large menu. The portions were large, very tasty, and very good value for money. The food was all freshly made. The music was pleasant Indian music, at a reasonable volume. If you want a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, I highly recommend.”

“I really enjoyed everything about this place. They have different style rooms depending on where you prefer to eat. I ordered the goats cheese and beetroot as the starter which was fantastic. I got the side of the tomato beef ragu pasta which was amazing but exactly the right size for my small appetite that day - they also brought a whole bowl of Parmesan for me to help myself. For dessert I ordered the brownie and doughballs with Nutella which came with icecream. I personally was not a fan of the brownie or the ice cream I wish there had been the option to just have a bowl of the doughballs as I had seen in other reviews as these were amazing. The tables were quite close together and it was really quite loud. I hope they invest in some sound absorbing panels. I would recommend and will be coming back. I have been again since and the pasta was still fantastic. We also ordered the mushroom risotto however this was lacking a bit of flavour, the walnuts were a nice touch. I do have to say the staff are fantastic about making adaptions to meals to intolerances.”

“Well, for a non-local or regular customer, I have been welcomed like I am. What a charming country boozer. The staff are always friendly and happy to serve you. Even the customers greet you. “Great little pub in the centre of Watford which isn't just part of another chain franchise, so a rarity! They've recently don't up the beer garden which now has to be the best in town, good selection of beers and ciders, reasonable prices, nice staff, just a really great pub!”

“Argyle "on tour". Our first away match in The Championship for 13yrs!! And what a fitting place to start in this pub. We were made very welcome and with a mixture of home and away fans and good friendly banter it was all enhanced by TV screens watching " The Arsenal " ( not a favourite team for the locals !! ) and England women. London Pride was the order of the day and the Landlord invited us to eat our fish and chips bought across the road, in the pub. Nice touch Boss !! Just less than a mile from Watford Junction station it was perfectly placed after our 0700 train from Plymouth. And we got a creditable draw against the home team.....excellent day all round!!”
