Food is excellent - the roasts especially. The roasts are flavoursome, well seasoned, plentiful and excellent value for money. I can't recommend enough. Prawn cocktail was also gorgeous. Dog friendly too.”

“I can't comment on the food as we out sourced the food. I hired out the function room for my husbands 30th recently, (had come recommended) and the Surrey arms team did not disappoint! The staff were attentive and helpful throughout the night, and leading up when I had questions. I can't remember the name of the 2 ladies on shift that evening, (Friday 20th oct) but I want to say a huge thank you! My husband had the best night, and everyone commented on what a great venue it is!! I think one of the ladies that work there is Beth? She was able to help out while we decorated on the Friday afternoon, and she was always there to answer any questions also leading up to the party! I can't recommend this venue enough. Their DJ is great too! Thank you surrey arms for such a great night!”

“The friendliest pub i've ever been to in London! Not 5 minutes into entering the building the bartender and other patrons began chatting with us about the history of the pub and its regulars, immediately welcoming us to their little family. Everyone knows everyone and the environment feels so warm and familiar it's more akin to chatting with friends in your living room than strangers in a bar (For my fellow Boston residents it was like witnessing an episode of Cheers in real time). Can't wait to go back!”

“Booked the beer garden last minute for my husband's surprise birthday party and everyone had the best time! The beer garden is a fab spot on a sunny day and the staff were incredibly accommodating. They allowed us to decorate the area we booked in advance, stored our cake, and checked in throughout the afternoon/evening to make sure everything was going to plan. The food, especially the sliders, went down a treat. Would highly recommend for any parties/big group gatherings! Looking forward to our next visit.”

“Very lovely and our go-to local to pop into for a coffee. The only barrier to loving this place is the setting of the fairy lights - would it be possible to put them on a static setting rather than flashing? EDIT: the lights are now static!! Thanks so much we love it - have upgraded rating”

    Kings Arms

    ★★★★☆ 4

“Entrance is via the corner door, where you sign in, either in a book on the bar, or scan the QR code that is next to it. There’s another QR code on the wall to your left. Then find a seat indoors or in the garden and there is efficient table service by the friendly staff. The seats outside include substantial, concrete framed, benches. No flimsy deckchairs here! There is a marquee if you want to get out of the sun, or to watch the TV. Being on the corner of Upper Green West and London Road, the bus-only route through Mitcham town centre, it's not a noisy place to be. Oh, and you can always take time to look at the architecture of this listed pub, built by Youngs Brewery in around 1900. Pint of Carling lager for £2.70p. Brakspear bitter also on draught at £2.90p a pint. Guinness is £4.10p a pint.”

    Caffè Nero

“Caffè Nero is an amazing place, and the staff make it even better! They are all so friendly and welcoming, making you feel like a regular, even if it's your first visit. It’s clear they genuinely enjoy what they do. One staff member, in particular, stands out—he's always really friendly and funny with customers, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. His approach to customer service feels like a pleasure, not a chore, and that makes a huge difference. The whole team does an excellent job, and their positive energy makes this place special. The coffee is great, but it's the staff that truly make this Caffè Nero a standout spot. Highly recommend!”

    FURZEDOWN BRASSERIE & HOTEL

    ★★★☆☆ 3.8
    Open

“If you're after food and drink, take the review score with a shovelful of salt. Most of the negative reviews are about the hotel, and the pub/restaurant itself has also vastly improved in recent times. We really enjoyed the food - a nice menu including some great tapas, all creatively presented. There is a nice sunny beer garden for the warmer months, plenty of TVs for sporting events and the staff are friendly. This is now our go-to local in the Tooting / Streatham area.”
