“My baby boy has been having swimming lessons with Fernanda. She is an excellent teacher, and makes both the children and parents feel comfortable. Swimming lessons are always fun for both me and my baby. Highly recommended.”

“I had a great experience at this great pub located just off Esher high street. I had great communication from Liam to confirm my booking of 20 guys. He arranged a room for us upstairs, took table service for lunch and we were so well cared for by Sam. He was very attentive to us. The whole group had great things to say about their food. An excellent pub for a Sunday roast.”

“A Truly Wonderful Stay – Even with a Rocky Start What a fantastic experience from start to finish—even though our trip began on a difficult note. My wife was injured on the way to The Bear, and we couldn’t have been met with more kindness and care. The staff went above and beyond, and Tracy was an absolute gem—warm, genuine, and made us feel like we were staying with friends rather than in a hotel. This stay really highlighted the contrast with one of the sister hotels we visited, which lacked the same warmth and charm. It’s our second time at The Bear—we stayed last year, and although my wife was initially hesitant about staying in a pub setting, she ended up loving it so much that it topped her list for this year’s trip. We noticed several subtle improvements since our last visit—small touches that really add up and elevate the overall experience. It’s clear that care and attention to detail are a priority here. If we had one minor complaint, it would be the limited parking, but it’s a small trade-off for such a welcoming and comfortable stay. Top rated—we’d love to return again.”

“The lovely pub hosted our daughter's 40th Birthday party in the side room off the main bar. We were able to decorate the room and also to have a local guitarist entertain us together with a fab face painter. Our party was able to order yummy food and drinks from the bar. I can't thank Nick and his super staff more. Highly recommend this great pub..”

We arrived just after happy hour had finished but had called ahead and Ajay very kindly extended the offer for us to enjoy some of the fab Margaritas. “I’ve been going to Meads since I was a little girl and seeing Charlie Merchant, who is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever had! In fact the whole practice is fantastic, especially Zoe on reception. The way they’ve dealt with the pandemic has been brilliant too. Sure they’re not the cheapest dentists, but the equipment and standard of care is top notch and everyone is really friendly and attentive. You get what you pay for. They can often accommodate you if you have an emergency and will always go the extra mile. Mr Rowley is a very nice, helpful man too. Plus their practice is in a very nice Edwardian house opposite Sandown racecourse, with its own private parking. Can’t recommend enough!”
