Every sushi is made fresh to order (apart from the rice, of course), so it’s not the kind of spot where food flies out instantly, but trust me, the wait is completely worth it. When our Salmon Lover Set arrived, we were blown away by the generous, beautifully presented sashimi. It instantly brought us back to Japan’s quaint little sushi bars run by old masters, imperfectly cut yet perfectly portioned. When we came for dinner, the whole place was being run by just one person, Mr. Md Nazrul Islam. He did it all, welcomed us at the door, made the food, and still managed to be super friendly and warm throughout. The service and quality made the whole experience memorable. We couldn’t finish our set and took the rest home (no complaints there!). Definitely a place worth visiting. We’re already looking forward to going back and trying the hot meals next.”

“I recently went to a Michelin Japanese and I can say I’d rather not go there and just spent the money with Obon instead. Yes the menu isn’t extensive but everything is done perfectly and the quality of food is amazing too. I loved the yakitori skewers, they were so juicy and tender (I wasn’t particularly thrilled by the quail eggs tho). The sushi and sashimi were fresh, both grilled eel and sea bass were also cooked just right and melting in the mouth. And the starters such as takoyaki, tempura, even the salad and pickles were delicious too. I have already been there twice in 2 weeks and I would recommend anyone in and around the area to visit (be sure to book as the restaurant is not big). An improvement would be the desserts, there’s not a lot of choices and the dorayaki seemed shop bought and microwaved so it was half warm and half cold (but I still went back so don’t let that put you off too)”

I have fairly difficult hair as it's quite thick and stubborn, so I have always struggled to get a decent haircut - of all the places I have been to for the last ten years or so in London and in Brighton, no-one has cut my hair anywhere near as well as Benham did. His many years of experience are evident in his work and I would recommend his service without a doubt. The atmosphere was brilliant too, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.”

They have fresh nuts and olives, amazing quality and pricing are also very good. Hope it stays that way. They also provide fresh grilled chicken, it comes with sauce and package of pickles, is probably one of the best grilled chickens I’ve had, really nice.”
