“Freshest breakfast in Borehamwood! Barracuda is known for lunch and dinner, but their breakfast deserves far more attention. I had the Mediterranean breakfast with sourdough and an iced coffee — perfectly poached eggs, browned halloumi, fresh avocado and spinach, seasoned olives, and grilled tomato. It’s by far the freshest, most balanced breakfast in the area. Most cafés nearby are just average greasy spoons, but this is on a completely different level. If people don’t support places like this, they won’t last — and Borehamwood will only be left with the bland, profit-driven cafés. This breakfast is being overlooked and deserves more people coming in.”

“I previously had the mixed grill, and that was tasty& rich, enough to fill 4 very hungry men. Traditional soups are very tasty(if that's your thing), and was pleasantly surprised about the burgers. The service was really good as well!”

“Really great burger, enjoyed much more than five guys or other premium places, I had a triple with bbq sauce. Burgers were perfectly cooked, juicy. Sweet potato fried also great. Will come again when in area”

“Amazing food and great service. The 2 of us enjoyed a starter, king Prawns and calamari, and main course each, spaghetti with king Prawns and penne with salmon. All dishes presented beautifully and tasted delicious! Best Italian food compared to Zizzi and Pizza Express. Staff were friendly yet professional especially Melania who served us, always a smile on her face. Highly recommended and will definitely come again soon.”

“Staying locally for work at the local studios. We found Paolo's on Google. Arrived, seen to very quickly. Lovely young lad serving us (Elli - shout out). The owner and his wife were in the restaurant. Very friendly, chatty, polite, courteous, accommodating and overall lovely. We had beers and wine to drink - no complaints, all good. Now on to the main subject matter: the food. Very good. Well above average. Recommendable. We are from London, so have eaten at many Italian restaurants. Paolo's is in the top 3 I can think of. What we had as outstanding, furthermore. We will likely go back again tonight. The bill was £130 for numerous starters, mains, sides and alcoholic drinks. Like I said; no complaints. Thanks for looking after us - see you again soon!!”

“Service was great, very nice/helpful staff. The food was very good, we had a Groupon for the afternoon tea and it's one of the best we've been to, I especially liked the salmon tataki sandwiches and the cheesecake, definitely recommend. Came back again for dinner and we had small plates, all of them were great. Especially liked the mushroom arancini and the crispy salmon tacos. The chicken bao bun was amazing too, would suggest if the bao could make 2 smaller ones instead of one large then easier to share.”

“Recently reopened under a new management team, Linger & Taste is a fantastic spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. We went for breakfast this morning, and were greeted by a friendly team, quick and attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. The food is well priced, ample portions and exactly what you should expect from a casual breakfast spot. They have the traditional British breakfast combinations, as well as omelettes, smoothies, and other lighter options. Value for money is perfect. I would definitely come back and would be excited to try lunch or dinner menu options.”

“We loved every bit of it! The food was amazing; a great range to choose from. We especially enjoyed the Goong Chu Chi (chef's special) with coconut rice, YUM! We were stuffed by the end of the main course, but couldn't resist the temptation for desserts. Ordered Thai Pancake and the in-season special, Mango and Sticky Rice and devoured both! On top of that, the service was top teir, very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return!”

“We enjoyed our dining experience on Sunday 22 September 2024. Unfortunately, they had run out of the roast beef option (but it WAS 2.30pm) so we settled for scampi and cod. The food is always good here, and the service (although the pub was very busy) was exemplary.”

“Arrived at borehamwood elstree late afternoon after a long drive up from Exeter Devon, we took a walk and found Jenny's cafe, On entry we was greeted with a smile, we enquired if we could still order main meals and yes we could as didn't close till 6pm, l highly recommend the omelette chips peas and salad, absolutely delicious, Clean and tidy environment, great service, Didn't take indoor photos but took from outside the main entrance door”

“I had a fantastic experience at the Battleaxes pub. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I especially want to mention our waiter, Hayden, who was exceptional. He was extremely understanding and attentive when it came to food allergies, no question was too difficult. His kindness and professionalism really made the visit stand out. “I remembered this as being a not very good 'spoons so was pleasantly surprised. Superb Sunday roast (I had the lamb). Vegetables not overcooked like most places. I followed with the sticky toffee pudding which was gooey and delicious. Excellent food made better by delightful and cheery service. (Till receipt says her name was Connie). “I have to give 5 stars for this outstanding service... not even the quality of food just the amazing service.. the food was good though.. similar to a lot of kebab takeaways... but what really it for me was when I asked for chillies in the wrap... the kebab man actually took the time to remove the heads of the chillies and chop them up before putting them into the kebab... this was a new experience for me as most places just chuck the whole chilli into the wrap without even removing the heads... Then we asked for larger falafel kebabs and instead of 5 pieces he put 7 in each kebab at no extra charge! And wait.. that’s not all there’s more! My girlfriend was a bit drunk and tried to barter a discount on the Turkish baclava deserts.. and they gave us a pound off! So 2 kebabs, 4 Turkish baclava and a portion of chips, total 15 pounds. Well if you can happily feed two drunk people for a measly 15 pounds then more what can you want from a kebab? I think that’s astonishing. And they weren’t stingy with the sauce either.. plus gave me extra red cabbage as thats my favourite part... For the above reasons I have no choice but to give this place 5 stars. I will definitely be eating there again. Good show.”
