“A hidden gem. Called for breakfast, instead of eating at the hotel, and we were glad we did. Full English breakfast for me and granola with Greek yoghurt for the wife. Great coffee to wash it down in a lovely park setting with great service. Spot on.”

“Hidden gem! Fantastic roast dinners on Sundays and bring your own wine for a modest corkage charge. The owners couldn't have been nicer and the food is incredible. We've already made arrangements to go again with a group of friends. You may have to navigate yourself around several buggies and prams when you're there and seating is limited but it's worth it. This place is a must try and incredible value for money, I can't recommend it highly enough.”

“My hubby and I ate here twice this week at Spitalfields Market, and both times were excellent. The first time I had gnocchi, and the second time the Sorrento pasta — both were absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly al dente, with a rich and flavorful red sauce that felt truly Italian. Portions are generous for one person, and the service was quick and attentive. Highly recommend!”

Their manager is always sooo nice!! and the group seemed to be a working hard group. its very very rare to see that these days. “I've lived around the corner in Bermondsey Street for six years and went to Al's Cafe for the first time this week. My partner has been by himself a few times when he says he needs some carbs. On this occasion i decided to go with him and I really enjoyed my veggie breakfast with my fried egg well done as requested. They said we could take our dog inside and gave her a sausage which she ate in a matter of seconds. It's a well executed traditional cafe or greasy spoon serving an array of breakfasts along with sandwiches and jacket potatoes. The service is prompt and super friendly. The interiors are clean and welcoming. On my visit there were a mix of locals, office workers having meetings and tradespeople. It is a great place to enjoy a traditional breakfast which is value for money.”
