“After receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer abroad, I rushed home and was given an appointment on the NHS. Three days before I was due to be seen, it was postponed due to the junior Doctors strike. As I knew so little about my diagnosis, I couldn't face waiting in the dark for 12 more days, so I found Prof Vaidya online. After reading a ton of glowing reviews and his impressive credentials, I rang his secretary. To my surprise, he answered the call himself. I explained my situation, sent him my biopsy results and, ten minutes later, we spoke on Zoom. Prof Vaidya was so gentle and reassuring, giving me the positive context to my diagnosis that I so desperately needed. Within two and a half weeks, I had further tests done, followed by a lumpectomy.
