Alloways in Putney helped me find the size of wood which would work best for my home project, then cut my wood to my amateur measurements, and finally taped it all up so it was easy to carry. Couldn't have asked for more. The bodge joinery is all down to me and, as professional joiners will have noticed, there's a lot of teak stain/varnish to compensate :0).”

“The Pattern Cutting & Professional Sewing Techniques course was great. Paul Simonson is so knowledgable and shared that knowledge in an uncomplicated, easy manner. I learnt a lot in 2 short weeks and Phew. The other staff are great. Nina Hunt in the Short Course unit was so helpful and nice. “Arrived unannounced with 7 people and a dog, and they catered with no questions. GM came over to meet the pooch. Maria was super attentive and our fresh, oven-baked pizzas were out in 7 minutes. A brilliant overall experience for a saturday lunch! Will be back.”

“The Canbury Arms on Canbury Park Road in Kingston upon Thames. A superb offering from the Young's stable. The service and interaction from and with the staff is from the top draw! A good offering from the keg, covering many tastes. There are also three cask ales on offer, including a couple from the Surrey Hills Brewery. A wonderful airy dining area and a couple of 'secret' patios. All great fun and lovely cold beer to boot. There is also a discreet, private dining area upstairs, ideal for business meetings, celebrations and the like. A must visit!!”

“I went to this place in July to try on a shirt and I was served by a horrible woman, I think she was the manager from what I gathered as she was talking down to her colleagues etc. I was asking about the returns policy because I wanted to see how it would like with my suit at home and she said I couldn’t return it? So I left the shirt and she was so rude about it, to the point where she started ignoring me! then thought ahhh I won’t go back there again but then gave it another try on Friday just gone as I was in a last minute panic so it was my last resort and Martin was a godsend, he was so accommodating, he essentially created a fashion montage for me and my two friends which really made the whole experience so fun! He could see I was struggling with making a decision and kept the store open for a bit longer just so I didn’t feel under pressure. I think all stores need a Martin, he turned a negative experience into such a positive one! Managed to get my tux in time, the store managed to send it for alterations and get it back to us a day earlier than expected!”

“What an incredible find five minutes walk from the town centre. Very tastefully decorated in a minimalistic fashion. Everything looked freshly refurbished. The bedroom and en suite bathroom looked as though they had been recently decorated and were very nicely done. No expense had been spared. My only complaints were that the upstairs hallway was unbearably hot and nobody attended to the room whilst we were out. Nonetheless, we had a wonderful stay here. The available food was unusual and not as described on their website so be aware but it was still tasty and served its purpose of filling us up before we went out. There is onsite parking which consisted of two spaces and a disabled bay so they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. I believe that there is public parking nearby but cannot confirm.”

Also, Andreina at the front desk was absolutely fantastic in helping us ensure that we had everything we needed for our stay. She was very accommodating and understanding of our travel requirements. “We love this nursery. Our two boys have been going here since October 2023 and they enjoy it very much. The staff turnover is minimal and the teachers are lovely, professional and kind. The bigger nursery chain they went to before was much more expensive, the teachers changed constantly and our older one was reluctant to go in. We have none of those issues here and are very happy with our nursery choice. The nursery manager Claire is also very nice to deal with. There are two 197 nurseries close to each other and our boys go to the bigger one across from Alexandra school. As an example of the level of care, there was major train disruptions recently and we couldn’t get home to pick the boys up on time. The teachers stayed with them until almost 8pm and didn’t even complain when we finally got there. The have very reliable and attentive staff here.”
