“Great local amenity with a 33.3 meter indoor pool (for those with confused fitness trackers) a smaller outdoor pool and teaching pool for kids, it is now kept clean and well maintained considering it is a public pool. The swimming changing facilities have been upgraded, and they offer great showers in a clean area. While the gym is a bit tired, there are plans for renovations and upgrades. The reception staff are friendly and have a great sense of humour, especially considering some of the flak they get from a handful of grumpy visitors. Parking is pricey, so public transport is the best way to go. Simple booking system, so book in advance or phone if you want to be sure to get a swim. Limited spaces which makes it much easier for lane swimming. 250 capacity for swim and stay sessions in outdoor pool, so check weather and book on sunny day.”
“Amazing gym, near home and friendly people. I've been welcomed from the first day by all the members of staff, including Nauris, my PT which I already had a few sessions with and I already can say that is one of the best PT I ever had.”
“the school is awesome and very polite and helps everyone when they need it, they are trying to make Westfield a better place in which they are succeeding”
“Swallows Leisure Centre has everything I need – a clean, well-equipped gym, a good variety of classes, and a pool that’s perfect for both fitness and relaxing swims. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A solid choice for keeping active.”
“Was a great school back in 2011 im not sure how it changed now.”
“I just started in this school and i absolutely love it, the people i have met are amazing and now were as close as peanut butter and jelly, the teachers are kind if u be kind to them the food is delicious and i think more people should join this school”
“I'm in year 7 just started, I've got all the help and support needed. I'm very grateful to be in a fab school, we get taught right from wrong and we know all the expectations. Like I've just said it's amazing!”
“I went to St Joseph's Academy as a student and moved over to St Matthew Academy when it first opened. Do not believe all the negative reviews that you may hear as this does not reflect the school at it's current state. St Matthew Academy held an open evening last night and it was very impressive. Parents and members of the local community loved seeing the pupils in action and the amazing facilities, pupils and options the academy has to offer. This school has come a long way since St Joseph's and it's recent GCSE results are the best the academy has ever seen. 5 stars out 5 for this school. Please come and see for yourself.”
“The Best school in the Ealing Area and beyond. The teachers are amazing, the education second to none. If you want discipline for your children and knowledge they are in a good school for learning, then this is the school.”
“Really great gym. Spa and pool facilities are superb. Gym itself is not as big but has quite a lot of equipment. Love the group classes the most, really great mixture and timings. Staff is always polite and helpful. Customer service has been also super responsive and they are taking their members feedback really seriously. Highly recommended!”
“My husband is a driver for DJ coaches he took your 6 formers to Margate on Tuesday he found that they was very polite keep the coach clean and very well behaved he wants to say thankyou to the puples of being very good and would not hesitate to take them again”
“I went to this school between 2002-2007 when we were transitioning headteachers (Jean Leberet to Andy Yarrow). I had an amazing time there, the teachers were sincere, helpful, and human. They really tried to connect with each girl that went there. There was never a dull day- between the girls or the teachers. Multiculturalism was highly respected during my time there and we all got on. I have many fond memories there and did averagely well (I think). I went on to graduate at the London School of Economics in 2012. I would not be the lady that I am today if it wasn't for the foundation I received at Hornsey. The teachers who were employed then really, genuinely cared and they weren't afraid to show us their insecurities or teach us things they went through when they were our age. The teachers would sometimes sit with us in the dining hall and ask us our opinion about things regarding the school etc.. (Our opinion mattered). I wonder what happened to this school? It's sad for me to read these negative reviews. I wonder who on earth is there teaching?”
“I like the way this school works with the girls to be strong and believe in themselves. There hasn't been a school with such a clear, strong identity in the area for a long time especially to support girls in our community!”
“I've been coming here for years and really enjoying if. The staff are super friendly and welcoming and it's always nice to see a friendly face in the morning. I'd like to extend a personal thanks to my incredible swimming instructor Hamid for being so helpful over the past few months. He's completely changed the game for me in terms of my swimming skills (I went from barely able to swim to now floating and swimming and rolly polly-ing in the deep end). He's an amazing instructor. I'm so glad I booked swimming lessons here!”
“Stella’s baby swimming classes are amazing! My wife was scared to take the baby so I joined for the first class and we were both quickly reassured by Stella’s professionalism, gentle pacing for the babies and calm presence. My wife says she comes back from the classes feeling more relaxed and my baby is learning life long essential skills with water. Thank you Stella!”
“I loved this school when I went to it Mr Jones is the best”
“Helped me develop my skills over 3 years, missed a lot of secondary school and got me to a level of education where I have now graduated university and am now studying my masters. Maths was a bit of a joke as multiple teachers were replaced and lockdown did affect education. Overall teaching is good. Most of these reviews are based on the students that come from different backgrounds, this doesn’t represent the quality of teaching.”
“Although all the old reviews talk about the teachers in a bad way, it is only because of what they think of them. I yesterday had a chat with the headteacher, because I was suffering from anxiety and she said she had anxiety to for a while as people of a different race were rude to each other And she pulled them apart. A bunch of kids called her racist for this, but they were misunderstood. School is amazing! Suggest it a ton.”
“This school is amazing with great facilities, staff and students. I joined the school for sixth form in Year 12 and now it's my final year here. I've thoroughly enjoyed being a sixth former here. The Sixth Form Team are very supportive and treat us like we are their own children. I also feel very respected and safe in this school since the students are well-mannered and value and appreciate me for who I am. I appreciate the strong family environment in the sixth form and am proud I chose Cardinal Wiseman for 6th Form. The school is a prime example of how we should love and support one another, which is deeply rooted in the school's Catholic ethos. Humanity is at the heart of the school and its actions and support towards students, ensuring they are safe and well prepared academically as well as for their future lives. I can honestly say I couldn't have found a better school than this. Definitely recommended. I am really going to miss it. : ) #Class_of_2022_Leavers Wishing all members of staff, students and faculty well and many thanks for the continuous support and lifelong memories to cherish forever! I will keep you all in my prayers! : )”
“Great place to work. I remained friends with most of the people I worked with. Great culture and the management really cares about you and your wellbeing. Benefits are great too as they put an accent on your wellbeing, with access to free gyms, health assessments and healthcare scheme. Also, during the pandemic, they really stepped up and upped the pay for furloughed peeps and offered an extra day of leave.”
“For some that say it’s bad my child is on Tv now maybe it’s ur child that’s the problem don’t go putting people down just because of ur child is mind and behaviour this school is trying soo hard to make this world a better place don’t go out advising others not to send their kids here they could become successful YR 6s keep it up once I go there u will have the best education and friends listen to your hurt and not other and their opinions the are failures because of their behaviour if someone goes to that school when they grow up they will be rich successful and accomplished their dream”
“Best decision was to enroll at this school. I have been previously troubled at my last school and this school has done so much for me and created so many good memories for me to reflect and look back on. My head of year and teachers did everything they could to help me excel at my GCSEs and I ended up having very good grades. The school has been so encouraging and has helped me to become a better version of myself.”
