“This post is three decades overdue. I was born in Hackney in 1970. I lived around the corner from Well Street market until 1987 when I moved to Canada. I'm still in Canada. But I'm 99% sure that Sun On Chinese Take Away is the same store my brother use to send me to frequently to bring home food for him. It was red just like Sun On, and more or less in the same spot. I remember how much I loved the food. I still love Chinese food today, thanks to Sun On. If anyone from Sun On is reading this, can you please confirm that you are the same store that existed in the 70's and 80's.”

“This Pizza Hut team gets it right at busy times! We left another hyped up restaurant for poor service and came here last minute; we were seated promptly, had glasses for the drinks machine within seconds of ordering, food arrived in under 10 mins and was cooked perfectly to spec (I used to work at another Pizza Hut so I know!) and the servers were constantly on it, moving items out of our way, checking up on us. Great work all! I like Pizza Hut because I know what I’m getting and this was no exception:)”

Our party of four embarked on a memorable culinary journey guided by recommendations from our generous host and the accomplished manager, Alex—a Scotsman delightfully at home running an Indian curry house. We began with starters of crispy Bengali Fried Sardines and succulent Lamb Shashliks served with fluffy Peshwari Naan. The main courses were simply outstanding: a beautifully slow-cooked Parsi Lamb Dhansak, a rich and flavourful Chittagong King Prawn Bhuna, and an array of classic sides including Tarka Daal, Saag, and crisp Bhajis. Each dish was faultless—bursting with authenticity and flavour. Equally impressive was the service. The waitstaff went above and beyond—whether because we were special guests or simply a reflection of their natural hospitality, it made the evening all the more special. “This place is simply sublime! The two best dishes in my opinion are Beef with green pepper in black bean sauce and their Roast duck with fried rice. Stumbled across this tiny, almost hole in the wall-esque restaurant when a friend of mine from China recommended it. Reasonably priced and of good quantity. The grumpy looking owner is like a funny cartoon character. Although he's annoying and hard to understand, the food is well worth the hassle.”

The dhal was my favourite..though it was the thokku that was a bit hit in our house, especially my daughter's. “Kokoro is a superb addition to the food offerings in Caterham. It has a great variety of asian staples like Chinese sweet and sour, Japanese curry/teriyaki, and Korean bulgogi. The sushi here is delicious and the only place nearby where it's available. By the way, don't overlook the bulgogi. It's not as eye catching as some of the other dishes but it's packed full of great flavours. If you're ordering the spicy tofu, just know that the spice level is no joke! Been here three times and the customer service has been stellar during every visit. Look forward to visiting again soon.”

I tried a bit of each dish before I put it on my plate and I must say it’s delicious ! I saw reviews about the nan bread I got a keema nan and it was cooked perfectly , so was the lamb madras and chicken biryani . I will be ordering from them again for sure .
