The instructors are amazing—not only do they focus on teaching movement skills, but they also give individual care and attention to both my 2-year-old and 5-year-old boys. Lexis School of English

    ★★★★★ 4.8
    Closed

“This summer, I attended Lexis School for 14 weeks, enrolling in their General English course, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The course offered a well-rounded approach to language learning, with a mix of grammar lessons, reading, listening, speaking exercises, and even history lessons. I particularly enjoyed the variety of activities, which kept the classes engaging. We often played games and watched short films, which helped improve my language skills in a fun and practical way. The school also went beyond the classroom by organising town visits. This was a great opportunity to practice English in real-life situations while exploring London's rich history and culture. The teaching staff were excellent. The teachers were not only professional but also incredibly kind and always willing to help. They created a supportive and encouraging learning environment, which made it easier to engage with the lessons and motivated me to improve my English skills. The administrative staff were equally helpful. They were friendly and always available whenever I had questions. Overall, I highly recommend Lexis School of English to anyone looking for a well-structured and enjoyable way to improve their English. The combination of diverse lessons, engaging activities, and a supportive environment made my time there truly worthwhile.”

“My 6 year old daughter started ballet classes at TDS nearly 2 years ago and she'd like to sign up to her 4th weekly class from September. It goes without saying that she LOVES it! This dance school is a gem in Teddington. Natalie and her team are amazing and professional in every way. They always keep to the highest standards while teaching and guiding the kids gently and with kindness. There's a nice sense of community feel across the school where the children can feel safe and make friends. The way all the dancers - whether young or older - support each other is so lovely and heart-warming to see. The best place I have been lucky enough to find for my daughter, which I can highly recommend! Thanks TDS!!”

    Busy Bees at Morden

    ★★★★☆ 4.6

“My child has been attending this nursery for just over 2 years and has moved from the baby room all the way up to preschool. The nursery space is well organized giving kids enough room to have different activities and is much roomier than other nurseries I’ve seen. The menu has enough variety to allow kids to get used to different cuisines. Most importantly, the staff that work here really love their jobs and genuinely care for the kids. They have taken on board any special request I have had from bottle feeding changes, dropping a dummy all the way to massively contributing to successful potty training. Its always a worry when leaving your child somewhere and as a parent you can always find something to worry about but I honestly get the impression they have my child’s best interests at heart always, for me, irrespective of how well the nursery is run it’s the people that make this place feel like an extended family and gives me the confidence that this is the best place for my child. We have also worked closely with the SEN co-ordinator who has been fantastic at making sure my child was referred where needed and gets the support required. I would highly recommend this nursery.”

“My son has just finished his first year, I was super nervous about leaving him for the first time but I knew every time I left he was being well cared for. I viewed 10 other play schools/nurseries and none of them compared to the warm feeling at St Andrews. My son tells me about the different things they explore each term and how much fun he has had, especially in the giant sand pit. All the staff are amazing and you can tell they love all the children, my son especially loves his key worker Zoe and constantly talks about her! We look forward to returning in the new year!”

    Give Into Dance

    Open

“When I first joined Give Into Dance I was immediately blown away by the friendly atmosphere and the fun classes. I made friends almost instantly and to this day, over ten years later, the people I met at GID are still some of my closest friends. Briony is an incredible teacher, she makes everyone feel welcome, and no matter what level you are at, Briony, along with everyone in the class makes you feel completely at ease. The amazing variety of dance styles, choreography and routines keep you on your toes whilst giving you an amazing workout. Performing in the annual shows gives you something to work towards, and a huge sense of achievement afterwards, all whilst making amazing memories with a wonderful group of people. Unlike many other dance classes out there, GID doesn't have an elitist vibe or make you feel like an outsider if you're new or a beginner, you instantly feel welcomed and relaxed and the classes are a fun and happy place, the perfect escape from the stresses of everyday life!”

“So my son has been going here for nearly a year now and I can honestly say this is a really good Nursery. The front office staff are incredibly helpful and very polite and welcoming and very understanding. As for my son's class there have been amazing he loves to go there he's learning a lot. They helped us with his toilet training, and he was out of nappies in next to no time. I was expecting it to be very hard and difficult, but we did what they advised, and within a week he was out of nappies. Genuinely, if you're looking for a really good nursery, I would highly recommend you just go there for yourself. Have a look around, speak to them, and I'm sure you'll place your little one there.”

The Royal Ballet School (White Lodge)

    ★★★★☆ 4.4
    Open

“What an impressive building in the middle of the Richmond park. Commissioned in 1725 as a hunting lodge for George I, White Lodge remains part of the Crown Estate to this day and partly housing the well known The Royal Ballet School. Here a little bit of a history: A misunderstood politician John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute (1713–1792) was appointed Ranger of the Park by George III in 1761 and took up residence at White Lodge. In 1801, George III assigned White Lodge to Henry Addington (a middle-class Prime Minister), later Viscount Sidmouth, as a ‘grace and favour’ residence. Addington, who served as Prime Minister from 1801 to 1804, remained at the Lodge until his death in 1844. The Empress Elizabeth of Austria-Hungary (Sissi) (1837–1898) stayed at White Lodge for the hunting season in the summer of 1874. In 1881 Sir Henry Irving and Ellen Terry were guests, the famous Victorian actors, who had recently starred at the Lyceum Theatre as Hamlet and Ophelia in Shakespeare’s tragic play of Hamlet. In January 1912, the famous ballerina, Anna Pavlova, and her partner, Laurent Novikoff, performed at Richmond Theatre with the members of the Company of the Imperial Ballet, St Petersburg. Many decades later, students of The Royal Ballet School would follow in Pavlova’s footsteps, dancing each summer at Richmond Theatre during the 1970s and 1980s. On 13 August 1924, there was another royal birth at White Lodge. Prince Aleksander Pavlov Karadorevic was born to Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark and Prince Paul of Yugoslavia, in the same room as that in which Prince Edward of Wales had been born, 30 years earlier. The marriage of Mrs Reynolds Albertini and Colonel James Veitch of the Coldstream Guards was reported in the Evening News on 12 April 1950. They continued to occupy White Lodge after the war, and hosted Marshal Tito there when he came to England on a state visit, March 1953. The Foreign Office agreed to Tito’s entourage being 29 strong, but let only 12 reside with him at White Lodge. For security reasons, Tito was not accommodated in a London. During the Autumn Term of the new academic year 1955/6, the first cohort of students boarding at White Lodge had to travel to their daily lessons at the School's Colet Gardens site in Barons Court, as the Stable Block classrooms were not yet ready.”

“I’ve been a part of this incredible dance academy for three years quite some time ago, and I can wholeheartedly vouch for their trainers. They are not only highly professional but also deeply passionate about both dance and teaching classes. Special thanks to Olga & Nick for their support. Their dedication and enthusiasm create an inspiring atmosphere that makes every class a joy (well, sometimes a physical struggle, obviously, but such is life). These have been three truly unforgettable years of my life, filled with really cool moments and amazing experiences. I am truly grateful for everything this academy has given me. I had to leave eventually due to personal circumstances, but I would like to thank you for making this journey so special!”

“We love Monkey Music! I have taken all three of my children to Kathryn's classes and it's the one class that I have made sure we continue when they started going to Preschool- partly because they didn't want to stop, and partly because I didn't either. It's a 'proper' music class, but perfectly pitched at children's capabilities at each age to engage and stimulate them. Highly recommended.”
