“We had a fantastic time at The Bake House! After finding out our originally planned venue for afternoon tea was closed we called the Bake House and they accommodated us at the last minute! We were too late to order afternoon tea but they did their best to give us the experience by plating up our sandwiches into a platter and putting our chosen cakes on a cake stand. Delicious baked good, teas coffees and scrumptious milkshakes for the kids. 100% recommend!”

“I visited Costa Gatley Sunday afternoon — a clean, well-maintained store with a cosy atmosphere and a good selection of food options. However, what stood out during my visit was an interaction at the till that left me quite surprised, and not in a good way. When I ordered a medium hot drink, the young girl serving me actively discouraged the choice. She suggested I go for a smaller size, saying: “There’s not much difference in size — go for the small and save some pennies.” As someone who has run a business for over a decade, I found this quite concerning. In most places, staff are trained to upsell — encouraging customers to consider larger sizes or additional items, which is standard practice in retail and hospitality. Her approach, while possibly well-intentioned, directly goes against basic principles of sales and revenue generation. Encouraging customers to spend less, especially unprompted, may seem kind, but it’s ultimately damaging to the business. In my view, this isn’t just unprofessional — it’s a risk to the long-term health of the store. Costa may want to consider reviewing training procedures to ensure staff understand the balance between customer service and commercial awareness. Thank you”

You can call her with a description of the type of arrangement that you want and Anita will go over and beyond to see that you are never disappointed. This week she created the most incredible Wreath for my Aunt who sadly passed away and I was blown away by the incredible work, love and intricate detail that Anita put into the project. “Been here a few times with my mum for lunch and it’s always gorgeous. Quiet but nicely decorated, attentive staff and the food is so fresh. We did wait a while for our food yesterday when we went but it’s worth it - I had eggs tricolore and the eggs, mozzarella and tomato were so fresh and the pesto was home made. My mum had a breakfast sandwich and said the meat was also gorgeous and really fresh. Less than £25 for both of us with a coffee each too, so good value for sale. Highly recommend”

“Had takeaway from here for the first time last Wednesday. It won't be the last! The food was lovely. I made my own veggie pizza which was really tasty, my dad had a Hawaiian pizza which he enjoyed and my mum had a gourmet burger which she said was really nice. We ordered chips and onion rings also. Before the food came, we had been saying how takeaway chips aren't usually that nice as they are quite soggy, however, we were pleasantly surprised at these as they were lovely and crispy, as were the onion rings. The delivery driver was very friendly as well. We will be regular customers here!”
