“Nice day out, grounds are big and wheel chair/push chair friendly. Some steps involved but places to leave the pushchairs. Lots of nice flowers and good woodland areas, shame about the fountain and pool being dry tho or half dry! Lovely landscapes all round and well maintained. We spent couple hours here but have done many halls before, you can make it an all day thing with other activities near by or longer walks around the grounds. The best view for me came from the top of the fields just outside the house, if you have a good camera with a good zoom lens or binoculars it over looks Manchester and Manchester airport! Great for those plane watchers! Also in more windy weather like today it’s good for kite flying on the hill top.”

“We visit Chorley almost every month and love to eat at Hartwood Hall. Our favourite is the filet steak which is always cooked to perfection. All the staff are friendly and helpful. On our latest visit we were served by John and Pippa, always a delightful experience. This is a popular restaurant and yet there is always a parking space and it’s free. You know you can relax and enjoy the gentle atmosphere. In summer there are tables outside, a bit close to the main road for us, so we stay indoors. So are there any problems? Only two as far as I am concerned, they don’t offer blue cheese as a cheese or a sauce and pouring cream is not on the menu either. Despite this we keep coming back for the great food, try the Mac & Cheese as a great side dish, it goes with anything.”

“Food was delicious, they're 4 piece chicken is the best. The owner was a really nice guy. The food didn't take long to be prepared, service was nice. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who likes to have fried chicken.”

“Gareth made our fantastic bedroom furniture in 2013. After visiting his amazing 'showroom' we agreed a design for two wardrobes and a chest of drawers which he then created out of English oak and Cedar of Lebanon. Due to restricted access to the bedroom (small cottage) Gareth built the furniture in components and then finished the build in situ. Nothing was too much trouble for him... his only fault being working too hard and finishing up having his lunch at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon! Prior to the furniture he made 4 Oak internal doors and frames for us... again fantastic design and quality. Highly recommended!”

“Fabulous design, build and service. I cannot praise Martin Moore enough. Quality product, design, build and faultless after care. They have fitted our main kitchen, our utility room and are about to fit our bedroom.”

“Where do I start with Oben Interiors. They have provided us with our perfect kitchen. Right from the start communication was clear, we originally came to Oben to ask if they could just but a island in and take our old broken integrated fridge out from underneath the granite, to then us wanting to change all of our doors in the kitchen to us completely redoing the kitchen. They were very supportive in our changes of mind. Emma did an amazing design that didn’t need tweaking one bit mainly because Emma got what we wanted and executed it to an amazing standard. Then when it came to ripping our our old kitchen and installing the new one. Rob and Jimmy removed the kitchen so well that we could use it in our utility with the existing granite. The trades they used with the help of our electrician & decorator did a fantastic job and were all so professional in the way they arrived to clearing up after themselves trying to not make much noise. Then when we had the new one fitted, they use fantastic quality of units, doors, hinges, handles the lot. The quartz company they use were fantastic with coming and templating and fitting it in such a short timeframe and their attention to detail was fantastic and so was Oben’s. Then the twist in the whole plan was when Rob shared a photo of someone else’s kitchen with a nice radiator on the wall so we wanted on and Rob organised for his plumber to some and fit it, cheers Rob. Finally you can not get anyone better than Oben and the rest of the team. Thank you to everyone involved”
