“This place is not only a Gem of Chorlton but also a serious contender for the best Indian food in a very wide radius... Their Lamb karahi is the best I've tasted and I've eaten alot of karahi. Super tender lamb & loaded with flavour! Friendly staff & food that makes your belly happy, what more can you ask for! 10/10, wouldn't hesitate to recommend & already can't wait for the next time we visit!”
“Food and service absolutely fantastic as usual. You will be hard pressed to find better.”
“60 years old and have had many curries , too many probably! In my top 5 EVER , awesome food , awesome price point Thanks Leigh”
“Great food pleasant staff highly recommend”
“Great food, lovely friendly staff.”
“Great food. Friendly staff. Quick service.”
“Ordered the Chicken Karahi and vegetable pilau rice to takeaway. The food was ready on time for collection and it was delicious. The chicken was tender, the onions and peppers plentiful and perfectly cooked and the sauce very tasty without being too spicy. The vegetable rice totally complimented the curry. We have ordered from here several times now and never been disappointed. Thank you for a lovely meal.”
“Delicious, authentic Indian-Bengali food! The flavours were spot on.”
“Generous portions, tasty food. Delivery was quick I got a couple of extra poppadoms than I paid for. 3 satisfied customers!”
“Great food' cooked fresh. Pleasant staff. Try the mixed sizzler great value.”
“Really fantastic food. The chicken pasanda was especially good and we all enjoyed the peshwari naan. Only complaint is the guy at the til being weird about paying with a Scottish £20 note. He did eventually accept it.”
“After a long time we had excellent Byriyani. Vegetarian and lamb.”
“I don’t have curry very often and it’s the first time getting it from here, & I have to say it was absolutely Delicious , everything was Piping hot when it arrived and arrived within 30 minutes. I will definitely use this place again.”
“Excellent place to eat. Ordered the donner and chicken mix in naan, was very delicious! So big I could barely finish it! Well worth the price! Value for money! Will definitely return for more. Edit: did return for more and this time got the chicken karahi and lamb karahi curries after the owner recommended it. The curries were absolutely amazing! Recommended 10/10”
“We've ordered a takeaway from bunz & Burner a few times, and the entire experience, from ordering to the last bite, was fantastic. I really recommend the set meal, great value.”

“Update: I first reviewed 3 years ago (see below), we live locally and still come here including tonight and again the food was lovely and even my fussy partner was happy with his dishes. Tarka daal was outstanding, chicken tikka tender, breads competently made. Very surprised at the bad reviews, noticed many are takeaway, we usually dine I'm and it's always been a good experience. Staff are also really lovely, we were put off by a really noisy group and they went to some trouble to set up the upstairs for us. Also offered us a bigger more comfortable table downstairs initially, even though it was fairly busy on a Friday night. So what one reviewer said about being made to sit at the smallest table is not the case now. Nice relaxed place to have a great quality curry at a reasonable price. Just to point out to another reviewer slating the food for not being authentically Indian: the restaurant is Bangladeshi, not Indian. The flavours are well balanced and nans cooked to perfection - fresh and fluffy soft with some browned bits. Samosas are large and taste freshly made, definitely above average quality. Fish dishes especially recommended, really tender. I've eaten here lots and with various people, and we've hardly even had a dish we've not been completely happy with. The staff make an effort and have a sense of humour.”
“A truly hidden gem. Always amazing food, always amazing service. Never rushed. Very nice modern decor and very pleasant staff. I've been everywhere in Manchester and ate everywhere including Rusholme. I've been here lots of times and it's one of the best, if not the best curry house in Manchester. Very tasty indeed. Oh and cheaper than Rusholme too. Recommended”
“Been here a few times over the years but first visit since 2020. A very traditional restaurant that has had a much needed make over; including finally updating the toilets. Draught Cobra is always welcome. They currently offer half price food from 5 pm to 6.30pm Monday to Thursday. Jorvic really enjoyed the food. All the classic dishes. Had very fresh poppadums with a generous pickle tray. Tasty lamb tikka and chilli chicken. Two good mains with one pilau rice and one naan. This food plus 4 pints less than £50. Food much improved from last visit. Will be back. They also do a good trade in take away, the phone constantly rings.”
“A great bunch of lads, always courteous, always friendly and always lovely food (with tasty healthy options when the mood takes you). I always recommend the Balti Chef whenever anyone asks and they're always very happy I did. Cheers lads, keep up the good work.”
“Best indian food - whether take away or restaurant - we’ve ever had! Packed full of lots of quality ingredients, particularly vegetable and herbs, giving it loads of flavour. Meat lovely quality too, the chicken was so succulent.”
“Excellent food. Curries were vibrant in taste and colour and distinct difference between the various curry types. Great level of heat without being too hot and collection was right on time.”
“Ordered the garlic chilli chicken pizza and added sweetcorn, hands down the best curry based pizza I’ve had can’t fault it one bit. 10/10!!”
“Ordered online via their website. Very quick delivery. Friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Happy to use Taj Balti every time. Thanks.”
“We had a takeaway. The food was very nice indeed. Hot, tasty, a lot of chicken, with less onions and peppers, which was such a nice surprise. Most takeaways have a few pieces of chicken and lots of onions and peppers to make it appear a full tray Ten out of ten, we shall order again.”

“Big shout out to Ashton Balti House! Amazing food as always! For some reason my ordered changed to collection so when I rang to explain what I had done, they sent the driver with the food 10 mins later and still hot! Never disappointed! Thanks Ashton Balti!”
“A friend ordered us a takeaway from here last night after raving about the lamb chops to us. The chops and the rest of the food did not disappoint, the chops where tender and full of flavour, the curry sauce was a great portion and the garlic cheese naan was the best I’ve ever had. All the food was hot still considering it was coming to us in longsight. 10/10 for the whole package.”
“My absolute favourite place for curry’s, so far everything I’ve tried was delicious.”
“Beautiful flavours in ours curries, we all enjoyed our meals. Fresh and tasty chilli masala, lamb in Koria soft and juicy. Soft, hot breads. Very good portion sizes and value for money. We rate as the best curry place in Oldham centre.”
