“Great home-cooked Nigerian and Caribbean food with warm service at very reasonable prices. I had plantain for the first time and absolutely loved it. The curry goat and pepper soup were amazing too. I'll definitely be back for the jerk chicken: the fellow on the next table had it and it looked delicious.”

“Pretty much used this place for almost 18 years ! Tried other places when this was shut and no measure up ! Sometimes have to wait other times not depends on traffic ect. food is always bang on and I have a very specific order which is always followed.”

“A fine Edwardian pub with decent tiles, good woodwork and etched glass.Overall plenty of period features.Not quite as grand as the Lamb Hotel but well worth a visit.Good bitter nice staff enjoyed my visit.Well done Holts for not ruining this pub”

“Met family here on route back to Scotland for lunch. Food was amazing, lots of choice for GF and veggies. Chesse and onion pie was delicious and service from Zoe was fab! Highly recommend.”

“Pol Mart is a Polish mini market and it's very accessible, just wish I understood the language. I go in quite regularly. The staff that can't speak English are just as helpful as those who can. They sell a lot of different cooked meats and cooked fish. I buy whole smoked Mackerel, kabanos and other items.They even have a small oven and they bake small white buns. There is a wide variety of Polish breads,Rye, blackbread etc. For the more self indulgent they have a variety of stunning cakes, fresh vegetables and the biggest Garlic bulbs I've ever bought,twice the size of supermarket variety. I love this store and there are many products I can't tell what they are but staff will willingly help and explain. Every visit is an adventure, highly recommended if you want to get away from mass produced foods in the local supermarkets.”

“A truly hidden gem. Always amazing food, always amazing service. Never rushed. Very nice modern decor and very pleasant staff. I've been everywhere in Manchester and ate everywhere including Rusholme. I've been here lots of times and it's one of the best, if not the best curry house in Manchester. Very tasty indeed. Oh and cheaper than Rusholme too. Recommended”

“The best fish ’n’ chips in the area. PERIOD. Anybody saying the Kingfisher on Parrin Lane is better — and the other comments — listen up. Yes, they are super friendly at the Kingfisher. They also close at 8:30, not the 9 p.m. this one does. And you can’t complain that this no longer takes card payments because neither does the Kingfisher, but this at least allows bank transfer — so basically it takes card payments. Also, saying it’s expensive? Last night I got a LARGE FISH & CHIPS with a pot of GRAVY and a pot of MUSHY-PEAS (both of which are far superior to Kingfisher’s) for £11.20. I think that’s very fair. I’m posting the pics here so you can see how amazing they are — and that’s after going to Lidl and walking 10 minutes home. Hot, delicious, and not greasy. 10/10. Give them a try at least once so you KNOW for yourself. :)”

“Always have a laugh in here with the family serving. Convenient with good stock and decent prices for a local store. Usually just buy my milk and the odd chocolate fix but essentials there too and open when they say they will be. Would love it if they started doing more services like evri and yodel but have recently got an inpost outside so that’s a start :)”

“We had a takeaway. The food was very nice indeed. Hot, tasty, a lot of chicken, with less onions and peppers, which was such a nice surprise. Most takeaways have a few pieces of chicken and lots of onions and peppers to make it appear a full tray Ten out of ten, we shall order again.”

“Lovely food, especially the mixed kebab on naan which was very tasty and good portion size. Ordered 12 inch pizza which was soooo good, love a spicy pizza. Very reasonable prices. Also was surprised at how nice the cookie dough was, probably the best I've had in Eccles. Very nice staff, always on hand to help.”

“Landlady is lovely and friendly. My dog is allowed in if it’s quiet which is nice of them. (Ask first if you are bringing your dog!!). Beers are cold. Jukebox is excellent. Prefer it to Wetherspoons by a lot.”

“Today was my first actual visit to Continental Takeaway after a long time of ordering delivery from them – and it really made a difference! The reception was very elegant, from the moment I walked in I felt welcomed. The guys at the desk were respectful, polite, and had a smile on their faces. They asked me if it was my first time there and told me about some offers and suggestions. It was clear that the management cares about the quality of their customer service, not just about the excellent food I'm used to from them. “Cannot understand the poor reviews. Had many meals from here and always been fine. Best selection of vegan or vegetarian Chinese dishes in the whole of Eccles and Salford. Have an easy to use website and deliver. Prefer this compared to using Uber, just eat, etc.”

“Went today for late breakfast, was delicious. A bit time waiting, busy but staff was amazing and friendly. Didn't catch up any names, but all need a big pay rise working really hard in the kitchen and cleaning tables. Just a little thing to customers tidy up after self it cost you nothing and will do a difference. Thank you for cookie, my daughter love it.”
