“I visited today to buy some plush yarn for a new project. The whole selection of yarn is fantastic, I found what I needed after much deliberation. I was served by a wonderful friendly person, but I didn’t get her name. She had piercings and cool hair and she asked about my piercings and my current yarn project. I hope she gets a raise and everything she wants in life.”

“We have been going to waterhead Tandoori for quite a few years now, and after promising we will leave a review, it's not before time. If you want excellent well prepared and cooked food, this is the place. The food is always excellent, the service is prompt, the premises are so clean you could literally eat your meal off the floor, and Al, is the nicest most polite guy you could ever hope to meet. He's always pleasant, upbeat, and is genuinely interested in how your day has been. The chefs are on full view hard at work, and everything seems to run like clockwork. Myself and Christine, cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks again to Al and his team of excellent chefs, we will continue to buy our curries from this clean, pleasant, well run establishment. Keep up the good work guys.”

“Went there last minute as our other plans didn't work out. I have to say I was shocked by how good the food was as I hadn't heard anything about the place. First of all I love the decor. They have made a really nice and cosy environment. And the food was just beautiful. I will definitely go back. The young staff were so good and well mannered.”

“Small but packs a punch. Only a small cafe but the welcoming was lovely, service was very attentive. We went for breakfast, the menu had a great choice of healthy and the usuals. We had a bit of both. Freshest ingredients used and looks like locally sourced, where that could be achieved. The food was hot, tasty, and well priced. The atmosphere seems busy with all the plants but I get that the view outside isn't the greatest. Could look smart with different table surfaces/covers. Don't let the location put you off as this is a little gem for food and service.”

“Had a fantastic lunch here just now. Booked online and had to delay an hour which they were fine about. Had fantastic service and the food was great. I had the rump steak and garlic butter sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly medium just how I asked and that sauce was delicious. Thanks very much!”

“Nice, old-fashioned very traditional British pub with a cool back room where bands play. Friendly service and a good atmosphere, the back room is small so perfect for an intimate gig. Good selection of beers on at the bars including Robinson's Trooper which is a personal fave!”

I phoned up and the owner invited me down to the unit and shown me all the products he offers at difference prices I got what I needed and went back the next day for others and he even gave me a hand to fit some of the bulbs, very helpful guy and knows his stuff, highly recommend!”

“Popped in before Christmas while visiting family in the area. Great selection of wines and spirits, including a range of local products. Good recommendations & extremely friendly service, even with it being busy. Located on the corner with steps down into the shop, can be easily missed, however their sign is at street level so keep your eyes peeled. Hot Mulled wine was also delicious, highly recommend!”

“Lovely, small hotel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice pub too, Excellent breakfast. We stayed one night for the standedge tunnel canoe trip. Stayed here on Friday night and then the owner gave us a lift to marsden on sat morning to join the canoe trip. Diggle end of the tunnel is 200m from the hotel. Recommended.”
