“We had a fantastic time at The Bake House! After finding out our originally planned venue for afternoon tea was closed we called the Bake House and they accommodated us at the last minute! We were too late to order afternoon tea but they did their best to give us the experience by plating up our sandwiches into a platter and putting our chosen cakes on a cake stand. Delicious baked good, teas coffees and scrumptious milkshakes for the kids. 100% recommend!”

“I visited Costa Gatley Sunday afternoon — a clean, well-maintained store with a cosy atmosphere and a good selection of food options. However, what stood out during my visit was an interaction at the till that left me quite surprised, and not in a good way. When I ordered a medium hot drink, the young girl serving me actively discouraged the choice. She suggested I go for a smaller size, saying: “There’s not much difference in size — go for the small and save some pennies.” As someone who has run a business for over a decade, I found this quite concerning. In most places, staff are trained to upsell — encouraging customers to consider larger sizes or additional items, which is standard practice in retail and hospitality. Her approach, while possibly well-intentioned, directly goes against basic principles of sales and revenue generation. Encouraging customers to spend less, especially unprompted, may seem kind, but it’s ultimately damaging to the business. In my view, this isn’t just unprofessional — it’s a risk to the long-term health of the store. Costa may want to consider reviewing training procedures to ensure staff understand the balance between customer service and commercial awareness. Thank you”

“I regard Anita, the owner of this beautiful Boutique as my personal Florist. Not only is she absolutely amazing at what she does but she is the most wonderfully kind and compassionate person. You can call her with a description of the type of arrangement that you want and Anita will go over and beyond to see that you are never disappointed. This week she created the most incredible Wreath for my Aunt who sadly passed away and I was blown away by the incredible work, love and intricate detail that Anita put into the project. “The cheapest Coke in Town or in anywhere really. Connected with the vouchers and the offers available. Last one was £21 for 48 cans if I am not mistake. Buy more and use the £5 voucher that will make your can of Coke costing around 0.28p to 0.35p per can. Without voucher its around 0.48p per can. They do have different offers and different items. I do kiss the £7 for 30 cans of Coke. The ladies in the shop are very nice and its never too busy in there.”

“Had takeaway from here for the first time last Wednesday. It won't be the last! The food was lovely. I made my own veggie pizza which was really tasty, my dad had a Hawaiian pizza which he enjoyed and my mum had a gourmet burger which she said was really nice. We ordered chips and onion rings also. Before the food came, we had been saying how takeaway chips aren't usually that nice as they are quite soggy, however, we were pleasantly surprised at these as they were lovely and crispy, as were the onion rings. The delivery driver was very friendly as well. We will be regular customers here!”
