“Best hairdresser in Manchester. I have been having my hair cut and coloured with Sands (Meg) for over 4 years and it’s always exactly what I want and better! Before Sands I went to lots of other salons but they never listened to what I wanted or could get the colour right. I now live in the city centre and travel out to Alty just to go to Meg because she’s just excellent. The whole experience is more than just a haircut, it’s feels like a catch up between friends and my stomach hurts from laughing every time I leave. Highly, highly, highly recommend.”

“I’ve been visiting most mornings and so far, so good. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, the swimming pool is excellent, and the gym staff are friendly and helpful. Changing rooms are decent, and The Cove next door is great for a sauna after a workout. The only small downside is the car park, which can get busy at peak times, although early mornings are fine. Overall, a great gym and pool with everything you need.”

“Lovely nails salon, friendly and professional staffs. The art design is such a top in Altrincham. I asked for a design which is very complicated, they didn't have a charm similar but the nails technician lady has drawed it by herself and made it 3D. The result look incredible. “I had my hair colored and cut in October, and Jodie was my stylist. I had an old balayage and wanted to go back to basics. She was so helpful and friendly! I told her what I wanted (or just a rough idea of what I wanted), and she gave me some great suggestions. I pretty much trusted her with the details, and she gave me exactly what I didn’t even know I needed! My hair looks fantastic. Jodie has a lot of natural talent and potential. He knows his craft inside out and his attention to detail is second to none. He’s created a space that feels relaxed, welcoming and full of good conversation. “Went in to get new tyres for the back of the car as I didn't know what size I needed and the guys were really friendly and helpful. They ordered in the size I needed there and then which they said would arrive the next day so dropped it off in the morning while I went shopping, came back and it was done plus they managed to get cheaper tyres than originally quoted so that saved me £20 which made a big difference after my shopping spree! “Easiest way to put this is life changing. I struggled with my hair as an 18 year old loosing my natural hairline and my corners going back at such a young age. Confidence lost and wearing a cap non stop. Didn’t want a hair transplant so I asked MHR what the best solution was. They greeted me with open arms where every staff member was welcoming and so nice, especially dean where it was like seeing your mate every time you went back. I got the red light treatment which was completely safe to do. I took certain pills with no side effects and now my confidence is at an all time high. I rarely wear a cap, go out without worrying if my hairlines showing and have become so much happier. I would recommend anyone at any age to go down this route.”

“I had a niggling toothache on my wisdom tooth for a few weeks now i was in pain everytime I took a bite. I rang the emergency dentist and chose this place as they did earlies and I was off work anyway. I drove 50 mins to get there near enough the motorway. Has plenty of parking space. Receptionist was so nice and polite and I paid for my visit and was told to wait for the dentist. The dentist guy was relatively young and very knowledgeable you could tell he cared and he spoke softly and made me feel at ease and supported. Sorry if forgot your names guys I apologise for that I blame my age I am getting on ABIT lol I told him what was wrong and described what kind of pain I was going through. He x-rayed my mouth and also told me that the tooth in question was all but gone as in there is no coming back or restoring to it's good old days. He said it needs pulling out and I was given the option of keeping it or taking it out. As I was in constant pain for the past few years I just couldn't handle that pain for a day longer and told him I wanted it out to which he replied we can do that. Laid me down and gave me anaesthetic numbed the area and literally when ready he took it out painlessly and I literally felt like all my pains gone although I was still under anaesthetic in my mind I was ecstatic. He put a cloth in my mouth and asked me to sit outside for ten mins so my bleeding stopped and he was happy for me to be on my way, that showed he cared for his patients because normally other places they just do the job and say right we are done and off you go but here the standard of care was shown. He the dentist sat me down and gave me very good advice to which I will take on board as I am suffering from gum disease of years of smoking but I've quit got over two years now. Anyway just want to say what a credit the young dentist and his assistant were. So friendly and you can tell it's their passion to help patients. Gave me loads of confidence just by being in the room with them. Kept asking me if I was ok which was so good. Thank you once again guys and it was definitely worth the drive there. I'm in comfort now nomore pain and I will do everything to reverse my gum disease and maintain the rest of my teeths.”

The care they take when doing hair and beards is extraordinary. I sit and watch Kostas when doing my son's hair and it's like watching an artist at work, the care and attention to detail is beyond anything I have seen in both barbers & hairdressers before. I can't rate this place highly enough for everything they do. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and supportive. It has a WRVS cafe which is open until 2pm each day. Free Wifi Offer transport services for appointments. Which you do need to book in advance. This centre offers: Specialist Rehabilitation Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Prosthetists, Orthotists Postual Care Specialists and Counselling. Physiotherapy Gym, Wheelchair services, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics - casting and fitting rooms for both children and adults, Rehabilitation Counselling. The Manchester Prosthetic User Association and Manchester Wheelchair User Group are based here to offer Peer to Peer support to the centre's users. It also has a great resource area with lots of information and event details from numerous charities - Wheel Power, Limbless Association, Limb Power, Blesma, Reach, MacMillan Cancer Support, ManFit, Age UK, LimbCare and many more. The Ability Matters Store is here too, which stocks disability aids and equipment. The lovely staff can help you find exactly what you need to make your daily routine easier. Plus plenty of accessible car-parking.”

Romy has a vast understanding, knowledge and experience in this area, and she passed this onto our group in a rich and informative way. The group I was part of were unanimous in our thinking that Romy had allowed us the time and space to reflect on the information we were receiving, to discuss it and digest it in a thorough manner.
