“We booked The Mews and The South Cottage for 5 nights for our wedding. The cottages were spotless, the interiors were beautiful and the views and ground of the cottages were stunning. It felt like homely luxury! The layout worked really well in terms of the number of bathrooms etc. It was the perfect place to get family and bridesmaids together before the wedding and such a beautiful place to get ready on the wedding morning itself. Would definitely recommend.”

“Just the best. Can't fault anything from welcome to departure. We stayed in the Barn which was amazing. Lovely touch of the essential food baket on arrival. Quality decor and furnishings. The rooms were spacious and the hot tub was an added bonus. Alan was on hand if needed (which he wasnt). Location beautiful and totally relaxed on departure. Well worth the trip up from London.”

“Another wonderful stay at the beautiful Rushop Hall this Easter holidays. We'd previously stayed here twice before in the bedrooms above the dining area of which both rooms were relaxing, comfortable and beautifully decorated. This time we'd decided to try the Pepper Pot, and we were blown away with the high standard. Particularly the attention to detail of this little cottage and the sheer comfort it provided us for our two night stay. Jan & Neil are amazing hosts, and provide you with exceptional customer service. Which has the right balance of being very welcoming but allowing you, your personal space-Really love this about them. Nothing is never too much trouble, so please ask them! Breakfast is delicious and beautifully cooked. Loved the additional fresh fruit & yogurt etc. Location is perfect, remote and relaxing with stunning views. Perfect surroundings for a wonderful nights sleep and of course beautiful views to wake up to in the morning. Thank you for making our stay just as delightful as it was 7 years ago. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left 3 days later the staff and owners were nothing less than perfect hosts. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the food was simply incredible, the venue is gorgeous and the atmosphere is so peaceful and chilled. Our room was stylish, beautifully furnished and comfortable. “I stayed at The Lamb Inn for one night with a friend while visiting the Peak District. We arrived late, but the staff were very accommodating and provided us with the keys right away. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was absolutely amazing—definitely a highlight of our stay. The only minor issue was that the shower leaked at the bottom, so the water didn’t drain properly. Other than that, everything was great. The inn is conveniently located for exploring the Peak District, though you will need a car to get around. We even spotted some Highland cows nearby, which was a lovely surprise. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay—I’d happily recommend it for a visit to the area.”

“Nipped in for a meal being intrigued by the name of a pub as The White Lion with the picture of a zebra on the pub sign. The pub is under refurbishment. The service was perfect. We had 3 roasts and we were struggling to eat all of the food. One small criticism - the food was not hot enough. I made a special request about my drink and it was not a problem for the barman to accommodate it.”

“Lovely old inn with a superb view. Good priced drinks and unbelievably friendly staff, including the delightful owners. Everybody went above and beyond, from checking in to breakfast in the morning.... Wow! The breakfast was perfect, and soaked up our hangovers from the previous nights wedding perfectly. Clean rooms, comfy beds, Will be looking for an excuse to go back soon.”

“Great location. Friendly greetings from barge owners, cyclists and walkers along the canal path into Whaley Bridge and New Mills. The views were spectacular even on a dull day. The Navigation Inn was welcoming, and dog friendly, but best if you keep them off the seating as the path can be muddy. The landlord looked after the beer well and there was plenty of choice. We both had the pie of the day and we're very happy with our choice. Lots of meat and super chips and the cauliflower and carrots were cooked to perfection. The gravy was superb ***** 5 stars. Our young waitress was very friendly and polite and overall the evening was a lovely experience. On our second night I had Bali chicken which again contained lots of meat with stir fried veg in a sweet sticky sauce, and my husband had fish and chips. Again the beer was good. If you enjoy walking or cycling while looking at gorgeous scenery then this is definitely worth a stay although we were in our motorhome. It's free to stay if you inform the landlord if your vehicle reg and go in the pub for a few drinks or a meal. Believe me it's worth it.”

“Stayed in a nearby cottage and popped in here to watch the Rugby and have food and drinks. The lady behind the bar was fantastic brining us fresh drinks whenever we were running dry. They were on a reduced menu at the time for food but still enough to choose and was all good. Locals in the pub were all very nice too.”

“We had the best camping trip for two nights, toilets and showers were clean and the showers were nice and hot. With gorgeous views, it really was very relaxing where the children had full use of the open field. The owners were helpful and once checked in, we were left to our own devices. There's pubs and parks all within a 5 minute drive away and a big tesco round the corner too. It is just a shame you can't have camp fires as that would have made the evenings that bit better with smores. But regardless we would still definitely revisit again. Thank you for a lovely stay!”

“Hosted a games night for our running club in the free function room upstairs. Such a beautiful room with original features. We only had chip butties but they were really good, we even got some salad & cakes thrown in and the napkins were super cute! Lisa was super helpful when trying to organise. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for a great night!”

“This is the best travelodge I have stayed in. I have had the opportunity to stay in many over the years and this little travelodge exceeded all expectations. Yes it's an old road side style travelodge ut the staff are friendly and maintain the property very well. The reception smells nice with fresh flowers and the corridor and rooms are exceptionally clean. Well done to the staff going above and beyond.”

“Lovely farmhouse stay, on Smallholding close to Whaley Bridge and a good location to explore the Peak District from. Cosy log burning stoves in both dining/kitchen and living room. All clean and tastefully decorated. Nice little garden and spectacular outlook. Owners are friendly and helpful.”
