I cannot recommend Suranne enough, I always buy multiple loaves when she bakes and only wish she could bake more regularly! The bread is delicious, especially some of the ‘specials’ she does (tomato & chilli is a real favourite for us!). She’s also really friendly and very flexible about collection.”

“We absolutely love coming here. I Wish we found it sooner. We always used the Thai in olney. At first the restaurant isn’t the most pleasing to the eye as it’s shared with a shop but the food is what we go for and it’s delicious every time. The service is great. Every single dish and starter has always been piping hot. Fresh and soooo tasty. Also it’s great value for money. The pad Thai is our favourite and much cheaper than the olney Thai so I do hope they keep the prices how they are as we wouldn’t be able to come as often. We treated my nan this weekend. We’ve only eaten in but will try a takeaway one time but it’s hard to travel food and keep the quality the same. I have requested they add duck dishes or duck pancakes would be lush. Thanks so much imchai and keep up the good work. It’s a hidden gem. You need to try it and you’ll see why everyone gives 5*. I can only imagine anyone moaning has been really unlucky or just trying to get money off”

“Polite staff, good assortment of Lithuanian and Bulgarian goods. Some really interesting goods that you couldn't find in other Eastern European stores. They also do their loyalty card, where you end up getting 10% discount on your basket after 5 visits, so I definitely recommend it.”

“We love this shop and buy everything from basics like washing up liquid, bamboo toilet paper, shampoo and cleaning products to wonderful treats like chocolate Brazils, cinnamon and maple nuts. Got my Christmas cake mix in a kilner jar with eggs, a lemon and sugar provided ( and you.get to keep the kilner jar to bring back to refill with lentils, pasta or whatever). Kerry, Alice and Lauren are great fun and will help you if you are new to refilling! Great for children as they can help with weighing. If you want to try a small amount of something so you can see if you like it {vegan jelly beans, chocolate balls, chilli nuts etc) that's fine. I used to hate shopping and especially hated seeing the amount of plastic waste I was adding to. I absolutely love our visits to Food for Thought. It has the feel good factor! Thankyou ladies! XXX”

“With HMC certified butchers in Northampton on the decline Ali's Bazaar provided another outlet to buy Halal meat in confidence backed by HMC. The quality of the meat, fish and vegetables is excellent. The meat is not as tough as the meat from other butchers. You can tell the chicken is fresh and has not been frozen and then defrosted and is not covered in red marks. Based on the size of the chicken breasts you can tell they have not come from some genetically modified monstrosity of a chicken that has been crossed with an elephant . I fedback to the owner and told him how pleased I was with the quality of the meat and chicken. The owner told me he is regularly approached by suppliers offering cheaper prices ( and I suspect a substandard quality), however he wants to offer a quality product to his Customers. Vegetables are also fresh and great. A few of my household members are vulnerable so I only make essential journeys. I live out of town and its difficult to find time with work, family commitments etc to come into town regularly for Halal meat and fresh Asian groceries. When I found out Ali's Bazaar do FREE HOME DELIVERY I was pleasantly surprised. I can order food from the comfort of my home and have it delivered the same day ! My last order consisted of about 45 items, I placed the order approx 6pm and it arrived by 7:30pm ! Its a family run business so you can expect an excellent level of service from all the staff.”

“If you don't live far this is a very convenient shop. Just buy online and turn up for collection, usually within hours. Prices are fair and availability is pretty good. It's open every day so if you are a weekend DIYer it's even more convenient. Staff is always friendly.”
