Our table was looked after by Brandon who was a cracking lad. He was polite, enthusiastic & professional. A real asset to the team there. Jamie who was behind the bar was excellent as well.”

“This is a discrete but friendly small pub, offering an opportunity to have a quiet drink and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Long Eaton town centre. I visited on a Monday evening from about 7.20pm, expecting it to be empty but not only finding a small crowd in both the lounge and the bar, but acoustic entertainment being performed live in one corner. However, I had no difficulty in receiving prompt and diligent service at the bar for myself and two friends in need of refreshment and snacks. It is convenient to those who wish to explore the Erewash Canal and the many interesting sights to be seen from its towpath running all the way from the centre of Nottingham to Langley Mill in the Amber Valley. The Mill and Brook represents a handy stop off to anyone heading in either direction; with a short walk to the town centre shops too.”

“Papa John Long Eaton never disappoints when I’m craving a quick and tasty pizza. The crust is soft and chewy, the toppings are always fresh, and that garlic sauce is addictive. The staff was friendly and the pickup was fast and smooth. Definitely my go-to spot for a reliable pizza night!”

“1st time I’ve eaten at the Cods Scallops this evening. Ordered the cod & chips with sides of mushy peas & curry sauce all washed down with their own “Scale Ale” beer and have to say I was seriously impressed. Delicious and generously portioned fresh fillet of cod in a very light crispy batter, chips golden brown and crisp with a light fluffy centre. Just the way they should be! Mushy peas were just like grandma used to make! Absolutely delicious! All cooked fresh and piping hot! These guys know how to do it right! Absolutely Delicious! Top marks to the Cods Scallops! Very happy customer and will be back soon!”

“What a lovely pub in a lovely location overlooking the River Trent, with tables and chairs on lawns between the river and the pub. The Erewash canal is to the side of the pub with it's fascinating lock gates and other interests. We drove up by Campervan from our South Somerset home to visit family members in Beeston. There were no campsites near Beeston but searching for Pub Stop-overs we found The Trent Lock Pub (formerly The Navigation Inn.) We phoned ahead, got the thumbs up and arrived 5pm. We selected a parking slot at the rear of the car park looking onto grass land and trees. We invited two family members for dinner and we ate at 7.30pm (the pub opened at 6pm) The food was superb and we didn't have to wait long for it. I had the chicken salad with avocado and bacon plus a side of sweet potato fritters. Incredible flavours!The others had Salmon and onion fishcakes with shrimp sauce with broccoli and other vegetables, which they enjoyed. Wine was a nice Sauvignon Blanc. The service was good and the staff were pleasant so what else could one ask for. So we will come Pub Stop-Over camping at the Trent Pub every time we visit Beeston and we know we'll get good free camping and bl__dy good food. The event was one of our best to date great staff, atmosphere and the guests loved our services. We have had a a couple of additional bookings from the venue which is the icing on the cake.
