“The café has an understated vibe with a dark toned interior, featuring various coffee machines and roasting equipment. The space isn’t big, but it’s cozy and comfortable, a great spot to enjoy a good cup of coffee. [Orange 3 Layers Cake] Refreshing orange flavor with distinct layers. The top jelly wasn’t overly gelatinous and had a nice hint of yuzu. The sponge cake was soft and fluffy! [Distill Milk Dirty] Hot espresso meets cold milk, a pleasant surprise. The espresso had a slight bitterness but was light and smooth, while the cold milk added depth. Great balance and texture. A memorable cup that shows their pour over coffee game is strong. [Matcha Latte] Visually appealing and beautifully presented. Made with high quality matcha, the taste was nicely balanced between bitterness and creaminess. [Matcha Basque Cheesecake] One of their signature desserts, rich matcha flavor without being too bitter. The cheesecake was creamy, smooth, and melted in the mouth. Not too heavy, even if you eat the whole slice by yourself. High quality and definitely recommended!”
“This place was great. The staff were great, and the portions were perfect for me. The coffee was good and all in all it was a very relaxed experience, I will definitely be back.”
“amazing helpful and friendly staff”
“I ordered an afternoon tea as a present for a relative who had just left hospital. It was beautifully presented, tasty and much better than any tonic! Thank you. This is a gem of a cafe and highly recommended”
“Called in this morning for a breakfast as we was driving past, friendly staff, nice food and drink, we will definitely be back :) only downside is when it’s busy parking is limited on the street due to the position of the cafe, but worth parking further down the road and and walking up :)”

“Lovely place bottom of bath st Ilkeston nice staff, great food handy bud stop for going back to Ilkeston centre”
“Excellent! I had received recommendations to come here and I'm so pleased I did. They are so very friendly, have great human and dog menu's. I had a toasties for lunch and it came with humour (or colslaw), crisps and a side salad. I was totally stuffed after all that and the food quality was excellent. The coffee is also delicious and strong but smooth. I really highly recommend coming to the Dog and Bear. Bring your doggies too.”
“Fantastic service and very polite very happy. Great food and great coffee.”
“This café was a delightful find! I stopped in to get some work done and was pleasantly surprised by how reliable and fast the WiFi was – perfect for a productive few hours. The food was absolutely delicious – it had that comforting, home-cooked feel that’s hard to come by in most cafés. Their cappuccino deserves a special mention – rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The ambience is warm and welcoming, with a cozy vibe that makes you want to linger. Though the staff were clearly busy, they were still attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. The only downside was the strong food smell inside, likely because the kitchen is open to the seating area. There is outdoor seating, which would’ve been a great alternative, but unfortunately it was too cold and windy on the day I visited. Overall, despite that small drawback, I’d highly recommend this place – whether you're looking to relax, catch up on work, or just enjoy a fantastic meal and coffee.”
“The perfect local cafe, lovely staff, clean tables, gorgeous food. went in to grab a drink with a classmate to get some work done for university, whilst it was busy part of the duration we were there, it was quiet and we were able to focus on getting our work done and still be able to hear each other despite talking in low voices. quick service despite it being busy, an ideal location to hold a meeting.”
“My first visit to this church run coffee room and I am very impressed. Very popular on the day of our visit. Food was home made and delicious.”
“Atmosphere full cheerful and friendly, always feel happy when I have my coffee in Nèro”
“The ladies on service today went above and beyond for me. I had a wisdom tooth out and wanted a coffee. I asked for a straw as I was still numb - they obliged without hesitation and even made my coffee a little cooler so I wouldn't burn myself. Made my day after feeling weird asking for a straw for a hot coffee!”
“Lovely little coffee shop, the ambiance is homely, the food is lovely and the staff were very helpful. We had soup and a sandwich which was very tasty and fresh, then we shared the fruit and cake platter and there was plenty for 2. The food and coffee was delicious and we will be returning very soon. Covid safe too.”
“Great little place to stop for a break. Ok so not loads of seating available but that makes it cosy. Decently priced. Do yourself a favour and have the blueberry cake, definitely in the top 5 of cakes I've had.”
“Nive coffee shop near outpatient services in Derby Royal. Lots of snack choices, serves Costa coffee.”
“Pricey breakfast at £8 but all good quality and good service.”
