Group dinner in Chesterfield

“A hidden little gem of a place ... We've driven past this place many a times on our way to town - not thinking much of it.. it's a shame we didn't try it sooner! Food: Fantastically tasty food, which was prompt and well presented. On the first visit, there was a substitute on my tagliatelle - but this is because it's all made fresh that day and we arrived one hour before closing. Tried a few different starters/sharing plates, both were beautiful and (as much as I know) tasted authentic. Each following visit has been equally beautiful food. Service: First time, we arrived an hour before closing (cause... Yolo and we were hungry) and they were still very welcoming and accommodating. We still weren't rushed to order out food, even with the time. Everyone was friendly, polite and helpful. On following visits, everyone has been beyond lovely on each visit ... Atmosphere: Decorated with little touches of Sicily - it has a nice ambience for the type of food and cuisine served. It can get a little loud, with the size of the room, but nothing to stop you visiting this beautiful little gem. Would definitely recommend and will continue to return.”

“This place is absolutely amazing. Every time I ring with a different request they deliver. If u want something different to the standard menu, just give them a bell. Seriously, it’s the best u can get delivered. Even if they are busy, if u need it quick they deliver and it’s always absolutely bang on. Never leave a review but they deserve a good ‘en”

“Lovely little courtyard bistro, discovered as we walked through from the car park towards the castle. Decided to pop in for a coffee and some lunch. Lovely coffee, great service. We chose a tuna sandwich and salad which was really tasty and a chicken wrap with chips. Both enjoyed our meals and it's a lovely little bistro.”

“My partner and I are regular customers here and what a Lovely sandwich bar it is. Plenty of choice from a bacon butty to homemade hot dishes (quiches, lesangne) to salads, that are very tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the place always looks spotlessly clean. Highly recommend that you call in and support this hidden gem. Keep up the good work guys and gals.”

“My favourite restaurant, we’ve been coming for years. The staff are brilliant and the atmosphere is so welcoming and uplifting. Wherever we travel we get sushi and none has compared to how fresh and tasty the sushi is here. A lot of all you can eat restaurants skimp out on the quality of food but not here!”

“Great place to visit while visiting Chesterfield. We were offered a spot near the bar / food prep area...it was great to see all the food cooked in their wood fired oven. Excellent range of European beers and wines. Great location next to the crooked spire.”

“A spontaneous breakfast date for my husband and I. We had been here for drinks before but never eaten. It was incredible, our hostess Sarah was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, big smile on her face and a quick chat everything she stopped by. How she got around the restaurant serving everyone so fast I will never know but she was a stellar hostess. The food was beyond delicious, the eggs were cooked to perfection, the sausage and bacon was mouth-watering. The lovely surprise of unlimited coffee was definitely a boon. The restaurant was nice and quiet, the atmosphere wonderfully calm. We had a lovely much needed date and chose the perfect place. Thankyou to all at the Harvester for a wonderful visit.”

“We booked a room at The Riverside for an 18th birthday party. Communication from the start was great. Rooms to hire are lovely and all the staff at the Riverside are very polite and welcoming. Extra special thanks to the two young bar staff last night at our party, nothing was too much trouble for them, very friendly and polite :-) would definitely recommend Riverside for venue hire and would happily use again in the future.”

“Had my 3 year olds birthday party here recently, it’s one of the cleanest play centres around and the staff are excellent. The party went really well and everyone had a great time, plenty of free parking available as well.”

“Dinned here last night and was very impressed. We choose the “ all you can eat buffet” and the food was absolutely wonderful. Unlike other buffets in other restaurants, the Dynasty cook you order fresh each time , this means you can order a few dishes, enjoy them and order more. I ordered two starters as recommended, by the waitress, then ordered three main dishes. All the food was piping hot , well presented and very fresh and tasty. Some reviews I feel have been posted unfairly, I think people have unnecessarily ordered to much and wasted food . ( surcharges for wasted food ) if you order as you go you can just keep ordering and keep getting great food for as long as you want. The staff pop over to your table when your ordered food has been eaten and offer more. So plenty of food and very good service and value. Really enjoyed the evening. I will be going again for sure. The staff were superb. I highly recommend the beef with mushrooms in oyster sauce. A truly outstanding evening all round .”
