“I’ve been a pretty closed off and emotionally defensive person with a sceptical personality throughout my life, generally leaning towards science and reason for most things, but I had a loss in my family, someone I was really close with and also a long running relationship that had become quite difficult over the last few years, with everything happening together I felt I really needed someone to help me find a way through the emotional stress and physical pain that came along with it. I approached Jen after finding her on Google maps, I’d like to say I made the decision purely on her positive reviews, but looking back now, I feel like I was just naturally drawn to her as someone who could help me. After contacting Jen, I aired my concerns about the practice of Reiki due to my very logical and scientific outlook on life and that I was worried I wouldn’t feel anything at all in the session, she put my concerns to rest and asked that all I did was relax and see how I felt, which was very reassuring. I won’t go into detail about my session, but I can say that I had absolutely no reason to be worried at all, Jen is a fantastic woman with a very lovely aura around her, she’s calm and makes you feel incredibly welcome in her company. The session did exactly what I had hoped, helping me to release trapped energy within my chest and heart which came from my loss and current relationship difficulties, i would say it released me from being stuck in one place and freed me up to move forward with my life. I can honestly say Jen help me so much and that the Reiki session has allowed me to become a better person from within. If you are going through any emotional pain at all, which can be causing your physical pains too, I honestly would recommend you give Jen a visit. Thank you Jen, I really appreciate your support. “We stayed in upper Styx For 7 nights this was a return visit this apartment is very spacious spotlessly clean & has everything you could possibly need it’s in a perfect location in the centre of Castleton just a few minutes walk to the shop’s restaurants & many pubs also a fish shop just up the road Lovely host’s friendly & welcoming nothing is too much trouble we really cannot recommend Haddock Hideaway highly enough”

“We were a bit wary about staying here as it was a bit of a distance from where we were meeting with our friends. But we were overwhelmed with how friendly the host was. He did everything to make us feel comfortable . The room was very clean and spacious for our needs. It was perfect and just what we needed and we will definitely be returning. Hats off to the host he went out of his way to make our stay pleasant.”

“We had a lovely stay, our heating wasn’t working but the night porter instantly fetched us a plug in heater. Our room was clean and spacious but the highlight for us was the delicious cooked breakfast which was served to us by Cristina she was absolutely delightful, so cheerful and helpful on both days, we actually looked forward to seeing her the next day. She is an asset to your hotel. She made my children feel so special and has the most infectious smile and demeanour.”

“Spent a night here. It was a very nice room. I did request a 4 poster, but they were unable to get me one, so book early to avoid disappointment. I did have an issue with the no hot water in the room and they quickly changed the room. I recommend the suite. Lots of room.”

“Excellent wonderful helpful cooperative staff. We reached around 7 in evening. We were given a family room. Room was excellent size with clean bedding. We were surprised to see the quality of toiletries which I have never seen in even the best of hotels. The only hotel I have seen in country where air conditioner floor heater and fan was provieded before arrival. The best part was the 2 young lads on reception in evening especially Luke. Both were extremely cooperative and helpful young boys. They helped us with each and everything. They never said NO to any request. I will highly recommend the hotel especially because of hospitality and wonderful attitude of young boys.”

“We stayed on 1st November to 2nd November, with our little dog Jack. We went out for a couple of hours and the evening reception staff where kind enough to look after Jack in reception. I am also vegan and they only supplied cows milk in the room. They were kind enough to give me a small jug of soya milk. The room was nice. It had an iron and ironing board, which was lovely.”
