“Stayed one night in a twin room. It was fine for the price. Very clean with all amenities. Lovely bathroom (bit of a smell though). Comfy beds. Food was nice. Great location too. Don’t book though booking.com though as they’ve been hacked and I almost lost money.”

“Great place if you are going to arena 10 minutes away (mobility scooter), Staff helpful friendly polite, Bar was very interesting?, pool table, darts lots more real locals pub, plus a good coffee machine?. Hotel room brilliant sand shower room great kettle plus, telly, all felt new, very good security? I am semi disabled this hotel is not for full disabled???.”

“Can’t comment on the hotel but just had Sunday lunch, we got the platter for 2 and the portion is amazing! Could have easily fed 3 people. Beef was a little too well done for me (that’s just personal preference) but they’ll chicken was well seasoned and the pork belly melted in your mouth! Amazing service from Simon and the team! Always happy to help and nothings too much trouble!”

“Absolutely stunning place to stay! We loved the location and the rooms inside were beautiful, we loved the old fashion bathroom! I would definitely recommend this place. We only had one small downside which was the washers are shared and found it hard to get our stuff in the washers before other. Overall amazing place! It's also close to the peak district which has plenty of fun hiking trails.”

“We recently stayed at the Hop Pole Hotel and it was excellent. We had two double rooms and a single room I was in the single and the room was clean, beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom very spacious and modern. The decor of the hotel fits in well with the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. Compliments to the chef as the breakfasts and evening meals were superb. Everybody was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would definately stay here again and bring my husband and son as they do family rooms. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I will be back.”

“Clean and spacious room and bathroom. As is pretty standard now most of the sockets in the room have built in USB chargers, so just being a USB cable with you to charge your phone. Not sure if it was due to the current fuel prices, but it was nice that for once the room wasn't overbearingly hot on arrival. Only downside was that check-in was very slow, it took almost 30 mins (arrived just behind another group).”

“Traveling back from the Dordogne France. We had our touring caravan with us, and 2 dogs. We parked up in the car park, very tired nearly 12 midnight. My husband went to speak to the travel lodge to see if we could spend the night. The gentleman was very pleasant. We spent the night in the caravan it was very quite. I would highly recommend this place. The cost was £15. Thank you”

“I was asked politely to leave a review by the lady at reception but I did not catch her name, long brown hair. She was very bubbly. I had a very good stay. was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect for getting around. Would definitely stay here again!”

“We had our wedding in The Sherwood Suite On Friday 28th November We had the most fantastic day. Our coordinator Charlotte made sure every detail was perfect. Before the wedding we sent several emails to Charlotte changing things asking questions and nothing was too much trouble for her. The day went so lovely and smooth from the ceremony to the final evening buffet. All the team was so friendly and professional. All of the food was delicious we had so many good comments from our guests. “Just had 5 days on Robin Hood with family travelling from West Stockwith to Clayworth. Stunning scenery, lovely people along the way on and off the canal. Great, patient instruction from Mark and Sharon who couldn't do enough to give you the confidence to set off on your own. Lovely well equipped boat, plenty of everything needed. Few pubs/eateries along the way. Can't recommend highly enough if you want a relaxing holiday away from it all. Thank you Mark and Sharon.”
