“The staff were very friendly and helpful. The milkshakes were fresh and cold and delicious. The popcorn could have been better. It was quite expensive for food and drinks but good quality for money. The seats were a bit sung but comfy. Overall one of the best cinemas I've been to. The atmosphere was quiet but comfy.”

“I used to have an Unlimited card at Cineworld before COVID as I hadn't discovered this cinema by then. I went to the Light for the 1st time around 2 years ago, and have never looked back since. I love the vibe - can chill in the relaxing bar area, and get a pizza for tea (2 for £15 on a Tuesday too!) and have a couple of beers. Occasionally I'll get nachos too as a treat. In May, I upgraded to the Premiere card here and every visit has been absolutely spot on! My only comment would be better visibility of mystery screenings - I used to do them at Cineworld and had no idea until today that there's a mystery screening in a couple of days. Would definitely love to do one in the future. Looking forward to the next visit!”

“I had an absolute brilliant night at the village screen watching The Princess Bride. The staff were all incredibly friendly and answered all of our questions. The cave was so cool and decked out with lights and chairs. We got a snuggle package which was great! (Blankets, hot water bottles and sweeties!) the atmosphere was really cool and we loved the food vendors on offer just a short walk from the cave. I can’t wait to bring more people here!”

“Second visit here and as good as ever. The place is clean and modern and easy to get to. If you are parking in the Civic Quarter car park (formerly Southern Bus Station), you can get a discounted car parking fee. Just ask at the desk for a ticket (there is an explanatory video on Youtube if you get stuck). The cinema areas are clean with a wide variety of seat choices. Recommend the recliners, they are really comfy and just over £8 for a adult ticket. Refreshments are also good value here, compared to the cinema at Lakeside. Didn't know which drink to choose so the absolutely lovely staff member gave me a sample of one to try. Excellent customer service 10/10”

“I adore Parkway with all my heart - there isn’t a better Cinema in Barnsley, Yorkshire, or England as far as I’m concerned. The folk that run Parkway care about their audience, the films they show and the experience guests have. Everything’s cheap as chips, tastes great, looks great, sounds great - bang on.”

“A lovely little Theatre with lots of traditional values. I have been many times and the staff have always been superb. There is great variation in the plays, some serious and some funny. Full bar and lounge in a quaint 70 seat theatre. I have become a member and intend to visit a lot more now. Some great regular actors too.”

“Such a lovely cinema. Great selection of snacks and drinks and the most reasonable prices I’ve seen at any cinema. The seats are newly refurbed, reclining and very comfy. Staff are delightful. Recently my pregnant wife fell ill on the day we were suppose to go so we missed our showing I let them know and the manager Stuart gave us a credit note to use to rebook- such a classy touch. A quality business ran by quality people.”

“Staying here in my first year of university. Great location as it is very close to university, the highstreet and nightlife. I feel like it is a very safe place to live with security 24/7 and friendly reception staff who are always happy to help. The facilities are also very modern and clean making it feel more luxurious.”

“Take my kids 6 & 13 years old to cinema for a Barbie moves yesterday, waiting for some interesting moves, cinema in Barnsley absolutely nice,clean with helpful stuff,but moves was absolutely feministing, not really for kids, more for ladys with out motivation and trust in theirs self. Absolutely disappointed with it. But cinema is cool. As well need to say befor any moves starts is 30- 40 min is advertising, thats waist my time. If my review is helpful to you please give a like. Thanks. As well need to say what lift not works to go up,you have to walk, if you take some one with willchar its a problem to get up.”

“Our screen had an issue but the manager was lovely, handled it very quickly and got us sorted. Shame the poor manager got stuck dealing with such entitlement after us about peanuts. Really appreciate the manager for his help tonight.”

“Excellent experience today. I had mistakenly booked for the day before and showed up only to find our seats filled. The member of staff manning the till was beyond helpful and booked us seats for the following day, which meant the world to our son. Perfect customer service, with a smile and lots of patience. She wasn't even flustered when she needed to refill the ticket machine part way through resolving our issue.”
