Johnny travelled all the way from Doncaster to Epworth to help my grandparents complete a very short journey which would have been very complex due to my Grandad being wheelchair bound. “Seeing the flying Scotsman close up was good, but the 1.5hr wait - the last part in the rain wasn't so good (not anyone's fault it rained of course) All that waiting for very short look at the brasswork & fire? I don't know what I was expecting but it was more than that. A pity there was no entertainment to keep folk cheered up during the long cold wait. Nothing for the kids to do or watch whilst in the long queue. Saying all that, it was free.”
