“This pub was recommended by my parents as a good place for a meal and a real ale, on the day of the booking I admit to looking at the reviews and getting a bit worried, however I have got to say it did not disappoint, 5 (I think) Titanic beers plus 3 guest, the decor was traditional pub, with lovely Christmas lights, managed to find space in the car park too. The food was excellent, we had 5 different meals all really nice, steak, gammon, fish pie, fish and chips and a burger, real chips as well! Followes by 5 desserts, the crumble was a very good portion, and the stick toffee Christmas pudding was delicious. The lady who took our orders and delivered food was fantastic and provided great service all night. I would like to return in daylight so I can appreciate the countryside next time!”

“Last night I was the caller with the J J Galway ceilidh band at a 40th birthday party held upstairs in the Assembly Rooms. We had a great time, even if the only "beer" available was John Smith's at £3.60 a pint. The venue is a little hard to find, but repays the effort.”

The chicken and beef dishes tonight was so juicy and tender amazing. The salt and chilli ribs was to die for so succulent and spicy. Love your won tons too. Compliments to the chefs. “We were worried about potential drama when hiring a DJ for our wedding as it was short notice (military wife!) but from the moment we contacted Amp and Decks, they were beyond helpful and made the process so easy. They guided us through the packages they offered & were happy to make additional arrangements to suit two fussy brides! We were able to pick a selection of songs prior to the event (with our guests input) via an online portal which we didn’t see offered by many others, and the entire night went so smoothly. All of our guests had a fab time and praised the DJ for his hard work, and we can’t thank them enough for helping make our day perfect! Would recommend and use again if we ever require a DJ - thanks so much to the entire team :)”
