“I made a very last minute booking for my son’s birthday. Was surprised to arrive to balloons and banners at the table, and even a complimentary desert for the birthday boy. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the food was the best we’ve had in a long time! There’s absolutely nothing negative i could say about our visit. We have ordered take out many times but this is our first dining in visit. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Thankyou!”

“Walked in to a warm, welcoming , pizza smell. Shared olives to start and it was a very generous portion with lovely salted bread and olive oil. Had already ordered a pizza each which was delicious but very filling. Brought a doggy bag home. Staff were attentive and pleasant. The only down side was there wasn't a wine list and we ended up paying heavily for the drinks. Will definitely book again.”

“I have been going to Monty’s Fish and Chip Shop in Leek Market Square for over 15 years, and I can say with complete sincerity that it is one of the best fish and chip shops in the world. From the very first time I discovered Monty’s, I knew it was something special. The quality of the fish and chips is consistently exceptional—the fish is always unbelievably fresh, encased in perfectly crisp, golden batter that is never greasy. The chips are spot on every time: fluffy inside, just the right amount of crunch outside. Over the years, I’ve brought countless family members, friends, and even my students here. Every single person has agreed: these are the best fish and chips they’ve ever tasted. What makes Monty’s truly stand out is not just the food, but the genuine care and passion of the owner, Keith, who takes enormous pride in his restaurant. Whether you’re sitting down for a proper meal or grabbing a takeaway, you’re treated with warmth and excellent service. I’ve sampled fish and chips all over England—including many famous seaside spots—but nothing comes close to Monty’s. In my opinion, it is perfection in every way. If you try it yourself, I am certain you will not disagree. This place is a true gem, and I feel lucky to have enjoyed it for so many years. Highly recommended.”

“Three of us went for food and to watch the line music. Nothing disappointed us. Friendly accommodating staff, great music, delicious, piping hot food. Two of us had steak & ale pie. Suet pastry topped bowl, loads of tasty meat and gravy. No need for an extra jug. One of us had their beef burger, so big it had to be dismantled! Lots of chips and fresh veg, we had 2 extra veg sides too. Nothing to complain about, just wholly recommend. Meals around £15 each. Sides about £3 each. Will certainly be going back for more!”

“I came back to Stoke after a year away, ended up heading down after a recommendation from some friends, the landlady straightaway made me feel welcome and added to the great atmosphere overall. Good prices on drinks, has great entertainment nights like Karaoke etc and overall, just a great place to go to relax and hang out with friends. “As Weary Travellers staying in Leek (At The Green Man) for 1 Night after a long Day at Alton Towers with a Hungry 5 year old in tow, not knowing anywhere to eat, l ended up searching for a nearby takeaway, and using Google maps & Turkish Delights popped up followed their reviews & my Nose & can honestly say this place lives up to the reviews, the food was cooked fresh, substantial & importantly reasonable having been fleeced by Merlin Entertainment All Day Long was very welcome to my wallet. We ordered Pizzas which were delicious & with friendly Staff! Well done guys keep it up! If we ever return to Leek again next time I would like to try the Burgers & Kebabs! Simon from Brighton”
