“I made a very last minute booking for my son’s birthday. Was surprised to arrive to balloons and banners at the table, and even a complimentary desert for the birthday boy. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the food was the best we’ve had in a long time! There’s absolutely nothing negative i could say about our visit. We have ordered take out many times but this is our first dining in visit. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Thankyou!”

“I have been going to Monty’s Fish and Chip Shop in Leek Market Square for over 15 years, and I can say with complete sincerity that it is one of the best fish and chip shops in the world. From the very first time I discovered Monty’s, I knew it was something special. The quality of the fish and chips is consistently exceptional—the fish is always unbelievably fresh, encased in perfectly crisp, golden batter that is never greasy. The chips are spot on every time: fluffy inside, just the right amount of crunch outside. Over the years, I’ve brought countless family members, friends, and even my students here. Every single person has agreed: these are the best fish and chips they’ve ever tasted. What makes Monty’s truly stand out is not just the food, but the genuine care and passion of the owner, Keith, who takes enormous pride in his restaurant. Whether you’re sitting down for a proper meal or grabbing a takeaway, you’re treated with warmth and excellent service. I’ve sampled fish and chips all over England—including many famous seaside spots—but nothing comes close to Monty’s. In my opinion, it is perfection in every way. “So I drunk rang Spice Mill a while back asking for a really specific order. Guy on the phone told me no problem, paid less than I thought and food arrived quick. It was immense.
