“It was my husband who discovered this place for our dinner with friends. Great vibes and love the fact it is a community pub. My starter of the Korean cauliflower was absolutely amazing and I could have very happily eaten a larger portion as a main. For my main however, I went for the pesto bread and butter pudding and again this was delicious. My husband and friends enjoyed their meals. I was too full for pudding but as I wasn't driving, I enjoyed the special cocktail, whiskey sour, before we headed home. Good vegetarian options.”

“We were served by Hannah C today at Ego Shrewsbury and I have to say she was excellent. So kind, caring and efficient. She catered for everyone’s needs superbly - from the youngest 4 year old to my 90 year old father. Thank you so much Hannah for making our family Christmas meal so relaxed. Food was yummy, atmosphere great. Thank you Ego. All your staff are a credit to you.”

“At last! A proper pub with proper beer, where you can have a proper conversation without intrusive TV screens and not given over to diners rather than drinkers. The Shrewsbury Arms has been completely and tastefully redecorated, with William Morris pattern wallpapers throughout. We (two couples) went on a Wednesday evening where a generous selection of cheese, pate and salami + biscuits was available - all free! There were plenty of customers there, although like many 'wet' pubs I can imagine it could be pretty quiet at times. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back. PS: Did I mention that the beer was excellent? I can recommend Pig On The Wall... Edit: Typo”

“I visit Café on the Cop weekly to buy breakfast sandwiches for my office team. And I recently ordered some cupcakes from them for a corporate event. I ordered 24 vanilla cupcakes filled with jam, with a colourful rainbow theme. Safe to say we weren't disappointed, the cupcakes were delish and went down very well with everyone. Wish we'd ordered more! Thank you to the lovely ladies at Café on the Cop, I will definitely order cakes from you again for our next event.”

“I found this place online while searching for a particular product. Needing it urgently for a job, I dropped a quick email in as the phones were down that day. Ian was fantastic. He answered all of my questions promptly and acurately. He arranged payment and the collection from the supplier's wharehouse in Derby. “I had my wedding here on the 8th August 2025. Abby and Howard did such a fantastic job. Our ceremony was in the cave at the follies, our reception was at the hotel. Our day was absolutely perfect and all our guests complimented all the work Abby and Howard did. The day ran smoothly and there was no stress or issues. The hotel was spotless and extremely clean. They moved our belongings to the bridal suite, and left us a lovely surprise when we retired to our room at night. The food was absolutely delicious. Food was delivered warm and in a timely manner. Abby even assisted me with setting everything up ready the day before my wedding. I cannot compliment Abby and Howard enough. Abby especially has been wonderful over the last 18 months of wedding planning. She has always been polite, responsive and so incredibly kind and welcoming to my family, guests and ourselves. Our wedding was a very long day and Abby and Howard were absolutely exceptional. We truly cannot thank you enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. I would strongly recommend couples to get married at the follies, it an intimate wedding is preferred. It was beautiful and the views were just breathtaking. We had additional guests for our wedding breakfast, with further guests for our evening reception. All at the Hawkstone Park Hotel. Abby was very accommodating to our needs. “We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday here and there were 32 of us dining and we had such a lovely time. The staff were brilliant to deal with while we were planning and collating everyone’s meal orders and decorated the room for us after I had left balloons there earlier in the day. That was a lovely surprise. The food was delicious and arrived without any problems. We felt looked after and the whole evening was fabulous.”

“I will not let a 1 star, because I'm not Customer, but i parked in u parking for 7 min, because I was delivering food to some Customer near the shop. A Fine 10 or 20 paund will be fine. Like lesson - do not park here if u are not Customer, but 100 is to much. To much punishment”

“I have been buying pizza from Al Piccolino since the 80s when I was a small child, it was a treat then and still is. I don’t live in Shrewsbury anymore, but I make a point of ordering from here whenever I’m in town and I am yet to be disappointed. A true Shrewsbury institution, I absolutely love this place. Thanks for all the great pizzas over the years.”
