We booked the function room for a family get-together for 10 adults spread from Manchester to London. The function room is beautiful and functional with it's own bar and a dumb waiter to get food from the kitchen. Large table, lovely crockery and cutlery. Also a member of staff to assist us. The room was ours from 12-4pm, which was great for us. The room is up a flight of stairs while all the toilets are downstairs. The food was delicious (our party included meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans), but a little pricey. The gastropub was very helpful in sorting a choice of dishes to meet all requirements.

Booked for a big group of 18 and worked like clockwork, great atmosphere and aesthetic perfect for our pre wedding get together. Grabbing a quick drink at the bar was easy and the staff were lovely. Tara the booking manager was also quick to respond which made planning easy.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Griffin in Plumtree. It's a lovely, comfortable pub with a great atmosphere and a good selection of drinks, including some low/non-alcoholic options. The dining room itself is large and very comfortable. We had the lamb and our friends had the beef, and both were cooked to perfection - the quality of the meat really shone through, and the vegetables on the side were plentiful and cooked perfectly. For dessert, we shared the brownie, apple crumble, and affogato, all of which were excellent. While it is a little on the pricey side, the exceptional quality of the food and the comfortable surroundings make it well worth it, the staff are amazing and welcoming. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

Unfortunately, lunch time sandwiches were not a hit. Latte was lovely, however food was not worth the trip here. Me and my friend had spiced chicken tight flat bread & Harkers roast sirloin of beef baguette, chicken was not seasoned at all and mint and cucumber yoghurt sauce had no cucumber taste at all and mint was very slight, the only good thing about this was the flat bread. The fries that come with chicken flatbread were covered in paprika, it just tasted like powdered paprika and barely can taste the frie. Beef baguette has to eat with knife and fork as meat was very hard to bite and was chewy, fries with beef baguette were good. Both dishes had salad too which was good. Service was a little hectic and it felt that servers are not 100% sure about their services, like explaining how pay by QR works. Table service was okay, but not fantastic. We were definitely expecting more from this place and came here specifically for birthday lunch, but decided to leave early and have dessert somewhere else. Restaurants atmosphere, design and toilets where all nice.

This was one of the best Sunday roasts that we’ve eaten in recent memory - delicious food and great service. We loved the cosy atmosphere and the contemporary decor - the team were friendly and service was good. Will be returning for sure!

1st time dining at the Griffin and I am impressed. The decor, clientele and food is excellent, as well as the service. My only suggestion, is the service for aperitifs could of been a little quicker. All of our table of five enjoyed it and will be returning very soon.

We visited one Sunday before Christmas and enjoyed the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had out. The food was amazing! The staff and service were great - really friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant itself is really lovely - nicely spaced out with lots of light. Good music that wasn’t too load whilst providing a good atmosphere for everyone. I hadn’t been to The Griffin for years and it has certainly changed a lot since I last visited - you can really see the investment they have made. It is a fantastic pub and restaurant with a beautiful bar and fireplace. Will definitely go again! Highly recommended!!

Popped in for a drink and food in the beer garden while on a bike ride but they had stopped taking orders for dinner by that time. Beautiful place and will definitely go back. Someone else's food came out while we were there and it looked amazing!

Be aware that the prices you see on the website, for food, are out of date and there has been at least £1.50, added to some meals. Friendly and welcoming staff The menu isn't huge, but has some weird and wonderful portions, including Lincolnshire poacher and truffle custard to start, hake Kiev, mussels, rib & chuck burger (just a beef burger really), egg custard, baked Alaska or cheese board to finish. Lovely open plan restaurant at the back in an extension. Seemed to be able to cope when there were only a few tables, but once it got busy, the staff seemed a little flustered, so much so, we had to wait over 30 minutes for our desserts, due to them being behind with checks. No one checked on us to see if our meals were ok or if we needed anything. This place isn't cheap and this is down to the fact it has recently been awarded an AA rosette. The food was very nice, but I won't be rushing back.

Lovely place. Tasteful decor. Didn't eat there this time around but did enquire about gluten-free options which we have been advised they have many. Had an ale or two. Relaxing atmosphere with a warm ambiance.
