I went here to find shoes for my partner. We were unsure on what size we needed so we required assistance on finding the right size. The employee was getting frustrated and disregarding us, talking to his friend instead of assisting us. When eventually getting a box from the back it wasn't the same size nor make of the shoe. This had made me uncomfortable so I went to look for another employee, we were rudley dismissed and told us to speak to the person on shoe department. Luckily JD sports was around the corner and we found what we were looking for with assistance. I will never come back here again.

Rude Manager Nathan - Reading town centre store After reading all the other zero-star reviews online, it is clear this isn’t an isolated issue — this store has a serious, ongoing problem with customer service. It’s not just us they were rude to; it seems they treat many customers the same way. I have never experienced such rude and unprofessional behaviour from staff in any shop. I went in to return a pair of children’s shoes that were never worn, in perfect condition, and I had the receipt. My 6-year-old son accidentally bought the wrong age size when he was with his grandmother, so we simply needed an exchange or refund. Instead of helping, the manager Nathan immediately became defensive, raised his voice and repeated: “I am the manager, and this is my final decision.” He refused to listen to anything, refused to look at the proof of purchase, and refused the return without giving any proper explanation. Another staff member then joined in, and both of them spoke to us in a rude, intimidating and completely unnecessary manner — even telling us to leave the store. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a shop before. For a company as big as Sports Direct, this is disgraceful customer service. No empathy, no professionalism, no willingness to help. We used to love this shop, but after this experience, I will never ever return again. Sports Direct urgently needs to retrain their staff and managers on how to treat people with basic respect. An absolutely appalling experience from start to finish.

A distinctive sportswear store that offers all major brands and includes equipment for most different sports. In addition, there is a section for casual clothing. The quality of the items depends on the brand you choose. The store is located in the center of the market, making it easily accessible. Prices vary. However, the staff service is not up to standard — when you ask for help, the employees either say it’s not their responsibility or tell you to go to the other end of the store and look for it yourself. I asked for a pair of shoes, and they told me it was at the cashier, but when I went to pay, it wasn’t there.

The staff were… interestingly unprofessional. I was just trying to enjoy some shopping, but the bizarre questions completely ruined the experience. (“How many items do you have in your bag? You have to wait for the fitting room.” Yes, thank you — I was already standing right there, clearly waiting, and I could see there were people inside.) ended up leaving everything I was planning to buy. Maybe one day there’ll be properly trained people working there, one can hope.

The new store in Broad Street is absolutely fabulous with great discounts and ample choice of products. The product is well displayed and neatly stacked. The shop floor is not as cluttered as the old store in the same street a few steps away!

I bought a pair of footwear to my son. But he doesn’t like it. So I went to shop and asked refund. But they said I can’t ask refund, they only provide exchange or credit note. When I bought the shoes , no one told me I can’t ask for refund. It’s not fair to customers. The stuff ask me to find email on their website, actually it’s not working on their website. Manager told me their stuff are busy, they don’t have the obligation to tell customers, because they leave a notice on the right side of the till. Can they promise everyone see the notice? Why the policy is different?

I was in the shop to buy a jacket which I saw on the internet. I found the jacket quite hard because the only support I received was "look on jacket section without to show me where it is". They may were happy but I was expecting to be a little bit more support.

Had to go in multiple times because they never have shoes in 12. What you see online is different to in store. Some items isn't even in store. Click and collect is £5 charge or same price as delivery so totally pointless. Click and collect from store should be free. Staff are hard to spot as they look like normal customers.
