Stayed here last night prior to embarking on a cruise. The hôtel is dog-friendly, and we brought CoCo along for the trip. Plenty of parking space, and lots of room to store luggage as well. Room was clean and warm, bed very comfy, and the shower was lovely and hot and worked really well. Lovely historic building with some truly spectacular gardens as well, the original architectural plans are framed on the wall in the corridor and merit inspection. Every staff member I encountered was helpful and polite. Star of the show was the breakfast buffet, both a hot and cold choice and freshly prepared bean-to-cup coffee which was singularly toothsome. Bacon was properly cooked with a crispy rind. The breakfast sausage was delicious, thick, cooked to perfection and a proper meaty sausage, what a bonus that was. Would stay again, smashing place.

Excellent hotel! Staff were amazing, the food in the main restaurant was superb, the room was a great size with a really good working area. I'd like to express my appreciation to Olena and Roberta in the restaurant, to Simon and Owen the chefs who cooked gorgeous vegan-friendly food (across the four days I had Butternut squash soup, Broccoli soup, Mushroom Risotto, Celeriac steaks, Cauliflower wings), and Mea in the bar who went the extra mile (literally, by running the length of the hotel to get me some oat milk). If you visit the hotel without a car, note that there are are no local shops but it is a very pleasant area). I hope I get to work in the area again and return to the hotel. Highly recommended.

Amazing hotel with the friendliest, kindest staff. Really welcoming to your dog. You can eat in the beautiful bar area with your dog. The grounds are extensive and so lovely to explore. A special thanks to Roberta who made us feel so welcome & looked after. We can’t wait to visit again very soon. Thank you Best Western Chilworth Manor.

Location was perfect. The Hotel was quite grand and spacious. The Bar/Restaurant and side rooms were really good. We had an Accessible Room so the extra space was brilliant. Plenty of staff and hardly any wait for service. Not enough Disabled Parking bays. The room was about 100yds from Reception. Difficult for mobility issues. It was also at a corridor end and corner so alot of foot traffic, noisy guests and access to an outside door used frequently by smokers and dog exercisers. This door slammed loudly. We had to keep our curtains drawn as folk could walk right past it. The first meal in the Bar was a bit of a disaster. My medium steak was raw and my wife's salad was missing items. It was dealt with promptly, two fresh meals served and these were perfect.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Rooms clean, lounge area spacious. Staff friendly and welcoming. The only thing that let it down was the restaurant. For the price we paid for our meals I would have expected home cut chips

Absolutely fantastic stay at Chilworth.... I brought the wife down with me to celebrate the new year. The food was great aling with our table service. The drinks were served to us by the bar-man 'Steve' who created a great atmosphere and kept us giggling like little children all evening. He made our stay comfortable and we consider him to be the highlight of our trip. He is an asset to the hotel and the company. I would like to thank all of the staff for their impeccable hospitality. We will be booking up a return date soon.

Lovely place to stay. Room was exactly as the pictures on here, which was good. Slight panic at the start when we were told we'd already checked in! Not sure how that could happen as we'd only just arrived, but after that it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was excellent with great staff helping out. Rooms were comfy and even through there was a wedding reception we couldn't hear the party once in our room! Swimming pool was excellent and quiet. Location is excellent for shopping at Winchester and Southampton. Would certainly stay again. Wished the weather was better to let us explore the grounds.

The hotel itself was in a very nice setting, downstairs has been redone since I stayed last but this hasn't extended to the rooms, which does let the place down a bit. I'm sure this is a great hotel for afternoon tea/events. We stayed on a Friday Evening for one night. We weren't told when we arrived but there was a wedding taking place. We were told we were able to use all facilities as normal but when we went to the bar to get a drink to take to our room we were confronted by wedding guests telling us the bar was closed for a private event and we should go. The music for the wedding was very loud and didn't stop until just after midnight. Then there were loud wedding guests shouting in the corridors and slamming doors and it didn't quieten down until around 2am. If I had known there was going to be a wedding at the venue I would have stayed elsewhere. When we checked out we were asked how our night was and when I told them, the staff were just smiling at me. They were keen to clarify if it was staff or wedding guests who told us we couldn't be in the bar area and once we confirmed it was guests they just said sorry about that but you are able to use the full facilities. I appreciate that there isn't much the hotel can do about other guests. I can also appreciate that Weddings can be loud and will go on quite late. However if I had been made aware when booking I would have stayed elsewhere. It wasn't a cheap nights stay and to have it impacted so heavily felt like a waste. Other places I have stayed before have mentioned that there has been an event or a wedding and asked if I would like to continue with my booking.

Rooms very tired. We were in an 'upgraded' room. Premier Inn basic rooms are so much nicer. Breakfast awful - sausages were so tough you couldn't cut them. Scrambled egg cold and sitting in a pool of water. Staff however were all very friendly. The building and grounds are beautiful. Generally, could do better.
