“My partner now husband had our Wedding Reception here. Danny and Emma were more than accommodating to us. The Buffett made by Emma which was amazing as always when I’ve been to other events by them and I had lots of comments on how lovely everything was by guests. We had a fantastic evening also made special by the DJ Craig Heath who they recommended to us and would highly recommend again. Thank you to Dan and your excellent team.”

“The management and staff catered for a wake for my cousin. It was absolutely packed the food was outstanding they were so busy but they never faultered still smiling. I can not thank them enough for them going above and beyond my expectations the atmosphere was great. But the team at the farmers boy were beyond brilliant. “I went here for the first time on Friday and had an absolute blast. The food and drinks were unreal (and generous portions!) and every single staff member was SO friendly. I have a 5 month old puppy so I’m always wary of places that claim to be ‘dog friendly’ but this place was great and there were plenty of other happy dogs having a great time with their owners too. I’ll definitely be back and making my way through both the food menu and drinks menu!”

“This is definitely a blokes pub, a good old-fashioned boozer no food on offer except crisps chocolate nuts & maybe cobs if your really lucky, a decent assortment of beers, lagers & cider all on tap or bottled, wine is also available they have a beer garden of sorts out the back with seating available but no garden it's more of a local's pub no airs & graces about it everyone is made welcome arrive a stranger & leave as a friend”

“It's funny how things turn out. I picked up the phone and with more than a touch of trepidation based on the fact that it was a mere three days away I asked of the availability of tables for mothers day. Fully booked mate, said the far-to-pleased-with-himself fellow on the other end of the phone which is how I came to be phoning instead The Fingerpost and making the same enquiry. Some context I think is required here. I'm in Bristol - the old folks live in Pelsall - and I needed proximity for those old legs. When the local failed, The Fingerpost squeezed us in and even allowed us to forego their required deposit based on our inability to pop in based as we are in the SW. We'd have to drive now but one of us not drinking was a small price to pay for not having to roast our chicken today. And then, as we enter, my father sees a starter which in his 80 something mind is somehow converted into a main course so as we're seated he's already convinced he's leaving here hungry. I'll cut to the chase. The staff here work hard. They are the epitomy of courtesy and good manners. We were asked at least twice if we needed recharges on our drinks (always a great sign in a busy restaurant since it means someone is paying attention to the important things). The food (pre-ordered) was served promptly and was really good value. Personally I had calamari, cod then chocolate mousse - the restricted mothers day menu playing slightly towards the modern but still catering for the traditionalists (parents both choosing soup, chicken and crumble). For a pub lunch it was difficult to fault but I think had there been one (a fault that is) the staff would have puts the clocks back for us so keen they were to please. A great meal and I fully recommend you give the place a go if you're in the area. And yes. My father had to eat his words, though ironically not all of his lunch, as he failed most miserably to consume the largest roast he declared he'd ever set his eyes upon.”

“Anothet pleasant visit. Was seated quite quickly and a member of staff arrived within a couple of minutes for both the drinks and food order. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive, however, it was a Sunday and quite busy so it wasnt a problem. We had the sunday roast which is the best sunday dinner we have had when eating out for a long time. Plenty on the plate and all quite tasty, the only thing we didnt like was the gravy poured over the yorkshire pudding. Overall very pleased and have allready booked for the 09/11Good service, pleasant & happy staff. Good food”

“Dropped in today, didn't book ahead just turned up. Was lovely to be greeted just inside the door by staff with a happy smiling face. The place was spotlessly clean and the atmosphere welcoming. Food choice is wide ranging something to suit everyone. There were three of us and we shared the ultimate combo as a starter, we ordered rump steak with chips, smothered steak sizzler and the burger sizzler combo. The food was delicious and piping hot. and the beef dripping gravy so good. We were served by two lovely girls, Tianna and Aimee, they engaged with us and made our visit more enjoyable. Also Julie a great cheeky girl, all made us feel so welcome and their bubbly personalities gave an added bonus to our visit. Service was friendly, quick and efficient, if we had to make a complaint, it would be that the food portions were so good we just couldn't eat it all ;)”

“Booked this venue on the 3rd September for my daughters 1st birthday. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to hold a party. All the bar staff were very pleasant and helpful and went out of there way to make it such a special day. Toni who we booked with decorated the room to a high standard, as well as pointing us in the direction of booking a great DJ and bouncy castle. I have no faults what so ever and 100% will be booking again in the near future”

“I booked the function room for my partners baby shower. From booking the room up to leaving after the baby shower had finished I could not believe the service I received. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, the function room was ready for me to set up early enough to make sure everything was ready for my partner. The staff made sure that everyone was ok and gave them a warm friendly welcome. A lot of the people that came ordered food and everyone said they enjoyed their meals and would definitely be returning with their family and friends again. I highly recommend Farm John's to anyone who wants and nice meal in a cosy environment with staff that will help you with any need.”

“Fabulous pub, new landlord and landlady making there mark everywhere is shiny clean, staff members serving with a smile, there’s even things on the “what’s on board” landlord described all the up and coming events and sports which I think will bring the pub to a whole new level!! new chefs are creating lovely looking food presentation is completely new and it’s piping hot, foods very cheap and tasty I stopped coming due to food being awful but looks like this will be my go to pub for grub!”
