“We had such a brilliant evening at Veeno Bristol! The wine tasting experience was fantastic from start to finish — really well thought out, relaxed, and fun. The wines were all delicious (the dessert wine was a standout!) and perfectly paired with the nibbles and sharing boards. A special mention has to go to Jake, who absolutely made the evening. He was so knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. He struck the perfect balance between informative and laid-back, making everyone feel comfortable whether you’re a wine novice or a bit of an enthusiast. It’s such a lovely atmosphere — cosy, authentic, and a great spot for a date night or something a bit different with friends. Couldn’t recommend it enough, and we’ll definitely be back!”

“A literally historic building in its own right, due to the connection with the abolitionist movement of the 19th century, this is also a great place to go for some quality beers and cider, often with live music and friendly service. Food seemed limited to bar snacks, but otherwise a really good place to be on a cold winter's day, with the fire going and a selection of ales to sample.”

“We went during the Xmas markets and a rugby game. Everywhere was packed and it was no exception here. The staff were still brilliant, attentive, correct with the order's, didn't forget to bring extra drinks etc. The food was still delicious and well cooked. The chef was working flat out full speed the whole time we were there and so were the servers. Really surprised and impressed with the service.”

From the moment we stepped in the attentive staff, especially our helpful waitress Cherry, went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable. The menu offered a delightful variety of sushi, and our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the selections and even recommending a fantastic sake for my first-time experience. The flavours of both the food and sake were simply exquisite, leaving us eager to return and try more of the menu. What truly stood out was the personal touch on my husband's birthday celebration. The staff surprised us with a rendition of "Happy Birthday" and presented a delightful moshi adorned with a candle. It was a charming touch that showcased their commitment to making the visit special. Thanks to this evening, Bath Sushi has undeniably become one of our favourite restaurants in the area, not just for its cuisine but also for the outstanding service and overall experience. “We had dinner here on Thursday evening after being rejected by the Vietnamese Noya on the same street as we hadn’t booked. It was a very busy night in Bath due to the graduation day the next day I believe. Hondu Sushi’s menu was quite extensive to include Malaysian as well. Didn’t get to try. We ordered Salmon Belly rice, Seafood stir fried noodles, Sashimi Bento, Unagi roll and cheese and crab roll. All were delicious apart from the last item. Of course something like Kraft cheese was used but the most disappointing thing was the use or crab stick. It should be called a cheese and crabstick roll to be specific because that was what I was expecting. And it was cheap. All in all service was good and food was good. Only a bit of misdescription. Service charge like many places now, is included in your final bill. Food - good Service - good Atmosphere - it’s ok- busy but not too tight. No music and not too noisy”

“Our stay at the White Hart Ford was lovely! Quaint, charming, and quiet location for our three-night stay. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Nikki helped us arrange an early AM taxi to the airport when Uber was not available. The Sunday roast was amazing! You order and collect your food inside and eat at an outside table, bowl was filled to the brim with lettuce, pickled vegetables, rice and the chicken. Absolutely delicious. As an aside the young woman who served us was really pleasant and helpful. I was tempted to order the large bowl as was ravenous but the regular size was very filling.”

Such a lovely little restaurant, we enjoyed olives & calamari followed by a beautiful spinach risotto & four cheese pasta, all absolutely delicious! We were fussing over what to have for desert and we really fancied Affogato (ice cream with an espresso poured over) which wasn’t listed, but they kindly agreed to provide for us!! “Visited for a Sunday roast, on entering was greeted by a clean but somewhat dated room, with a small bar and a serving area for a carvery. The room was busy but my party managed to find a table, after buying drinks we decided to eat, there was a choice of three meats and a wide choice of veg. After returning to our table and starting our meals everyone agreed that their meals were excellent and were all thoroughly enjoyed. Judging by how busy it was, everybody else enjoyed theirs. Can recommend eating here.”

Staff were really good with my allergy, reading the allergy ipad thing was abit annoying but everywhere does this now. Miguel was fantastic looked off his feet but still went the extra mile. “Ever since it reopened, The Rose has become such a gem of a place. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with lovely staff who always make you feel at home—Tony especially stands out, he’s brilliant. The Wednesday quiz nights are so much fun and easily one of the best around. Great mix of laughs and a bit of competition. I’m more into wine and spirits, and there’s a fab selection (my partner rates the beer too). It’s the perfect spot for a casual night out. Highly recommend!”
