“Can't believe it's taken me so long to eat here, incredible Malaysian food. The Roti Canai were a perfect starters before we filled our table with mains. Salted egg King Prawns, Fried Hor Fun with Beef, Kam Heong Chicken, Claypot Aubergine were all stand out dishes. Claypot Pork belly, butter chicken and half duck also delicious. Excellent Jamsine tea with a free refill too. Can't wait to return to work my way through the rest of the menu”

“Right around the corner for our stay in Cardiff, we found this restaurant via Google Maps. It was a fantastic surprise. The interior was quiet, beautiful and had an excellent atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, personable and professional. We sampled a lot: hummus with pita bread, lamb, stew, chicken, beef, dolmeh (grape leaf wraps, I believe), doogh (a yogurt drink), mango drink and a Persian-made tea. The portions were very large and everything was delicious. We left with a very positive opinion of the restaurant; one of our best dining experiences in Cardiff.”

“No matter how many gentrified cafes that open close by, this place stays a genuine and strong locals favorite. Queues most lunchtimes show how good it is. Work vans and students a plenty. The sort of place a “tik-tok” food reviewer would lose their mind over. Had the hot roast baguette on Tiger bread roll. Sourdough and normal baguette also available.”

“Delighted to have found this little place. Food was delicious and excellent value, 4 of us ate for under £40. You absolutely must try the sticky rice and mango dessert, a delicious treat and no mistake. Decent selection on the menu including plenty of spicy stuff. Will definitely be back!”

“We visited Vittorios on a Tuesday evening. Lovely atmosphere, with family celebrations taking place and other groups of people. So despite being early on in the week, and not a weekend, it was still busy, demonstrating it is a firm favourite amongst customers. The staff were, I’m assuming family, and you could get that family run vibe whilst there, which added to the positive experience we had. Staff were attentive, whilst Also giving space and privacy to enjoy our food. Earlier the previous week, unbeknown to me my husband had spoken with Vittorios to arrange a ‘quiet area’ to sit down, so that he could propose to me to renew our wedding vows. We were placed in a quieter area, and my husbands request was managed discreetly without me catching on. Our wine was being brought to our table mid proposal and the young lad bringing it completed a 180 degree turn so fast to give us the space and privacy during the special moment. I couldn’t fault him for this and was impressed by the service we received. They congratulated us afterwards and gave us a complimentary celebratory dessert which was unexpected, but a really lovely touch. All food was hot, delicious and there were large portions. This restaurant is a local gem in Newport, and we are very grateful to have a created a treasured memory during our visit there. 10/10 service, food, and value for money. “What am amazing pleasant experience dining here was last night, the staff were so friendly, service was so good and the food was amazing. I went for the specials, an amazing burrata, pesto and cherry tomato dish for starters which is so so good. For main the special was a fish ravioli, the ravioli was made from black ink pasta and (normal) pasta so it was white on one side and black on the other, it was filled with sea bass and prawns and the fish sauce was amazing. Such a delicate dish. It's nice to dine somewhere where you get such good food and service and still get get a decent bottle of wine for under £23. (The expensive pallet was also catered for with an extensive wine list available). Thanks for making us feel so welcome, and a lovely evening.”

“We arrived thinking it was a sit down restaurant (duh!), but decided to do takeaway anyway. Fantastic food, generous portions, wonderful friendly service. They went to the trouble of making a special chickpea side dish for us (as vegetarians) which was amazing. We were provided with cutlery and napkins and went off with our food to a local part with fantastic views over Barry and the sea. What's not to love?”

“Excellent pizza. By far the best pizza I’ve had in Newport. You can judge a pizzeria by how good it’s margarita is and this surpassed any expectations! Large enough to feed a couple, tasty enough to have to yourself. The herb fries were a surprise joy and would highly recommend as a side. Perfect take away.”

“Have to say decided to give this place a try because of it rating, so glad we did the staff especially he brother who runs the place was absolutely lovely, we ordered online but the brother phoned to confirm the order and ensure number was correct, had a lovely chat, they delivered the food early which was a lovely surprise, the food itself was lovely nice tasty chunky chips along with lovely well cooked onion rings and the pizza was absolutely delicious, would recommend this place.”

“Five of us went to celebrate a birthday. The staff were very friendly and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was lovely especially the honey butter chicken drumsticks, nothing was left on our plates! The cocktails were also first class. Would definitely recommend.”

“I’ve visited this Svago Italian once and I absolutely love the food at this place. I had the pasta with shaved nuts. I wasn’t too sure about them when I ordered them, however when I tasted them they were amazing. The service is also good, and the place is nice and cosy. The prices are fairly similar to other Italian restaurants and quantity is also good. I’m looking forward to my next visit here and it is one my favorite Cardiff Restaurants.”

“Wandered by just after 5. Noticed this place had an "all you can eat buffet". Ordering three dishes at a time you are served very quickly. To begin I had California Maki which was lovely served with wasabi and ginger. Then miso soup which to be honest I didn't like the large slices of mushroom and tofu. The soup overall was tasty though. I finished round 1 with prawn and chicken yakisoba. This had a king prawn with several pieces of chicken and LOTS of noodles. Round 2 consisted of crispy chicken Maki and egg fried rice with charcoal grill chicken teriyaki which was absolutely delicious. Nice place, would visit again.”

“I went to Zio Piero last night for the first time since they reopened. I had a pizza, a glass of wine, and a panna cotta. Wow, it's fabulous! The place has been modernised so that it feels more contemporary, but it hasn't changed beyond recognition, and still has that homely feel. The service is great - very welcoming, and they take great pride in the food. I'm glad to report it's still the same kind of menu, with some of the old favourites and some new ones too. I'm delighted that they make the desserts themselves on site instead of buying them in (I always find that a disappointment in some otherwise good restaurants). The panna cotta (I chose the strawberry sauce - home-made also!) was honestly the best I've ever had. I'll definitely come back with my friends! Thank you for a great dinner.”
