“Had a lovely experience yesterday! Very family friendly (we had a pram, and they put out a baby change for us). The service was very good. The little finishing touches of bringing cutlery on a plate and sauce on a little side plate, too, made it a more pleasant experience. Food is an amazing value for money! Also full for the entirety of our time there, which I feel speaks volumes!”
“We were hoping for something a little different for a treat and after finding this place rang before ordering to check they could accommodate a very picky child. They were incredibly friendly and polite on the phone, the food was still hot when it arrived and was packaged really well (even the hot chocolate survived an uber driver getting lost). It was absolutely delicious, roasts were crispy, meat melted in your mouth, and the gravy and Yorkshires were perfect. Honestly couldn't fault a thing if we wanted to.”
“I recently visited this charming venue in Barton-under-Needwood and had an unforgettable evening. The cinema offered a cozy and intimate setting to watch a movie, enhancing the overall experience. After the film, I indulged in a delightful meal at their café bar. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the fish and chips were crispy and fresh, a true classic done right. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with excellent service that made the visit even more special. It’s a place I would highly recommend for anyone looking to combine great food with a relaxing cinematic experience. Whether for a casual night out or a special occasion, The Red Carpet Cinema & Café Bar is a hidden gem worth visiting.”
“We had a breakfast, delicious, coffee good. Excellent value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Met a lady who was meeting her friends, she's been going there for 20 years!! We will definitely go there next visit to Loughborough. The owner was really friendly and asked about our visit, really pleasant people.”
“I stayed in Derby for a week and tried a few different places for breakfast. I found the book cafe to be the best. Excellent quality food. Particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs which were light and flurry. Every item on the plate was of good quality. The location of the cafe is very central and the quirky ambience adds to the experience. Only slightly marked down service as there was no table service, only order at the bar was available but that said the staff were nice and friendly. I’d gladly return to the book cafe in the future and recommend to others”
“Had lovely drinks & caramel cheesecake at Rosas today. Friendly staff, attentive service. Tables were cleared quickly when people left & wiped down. Toilet available”
“A cute cafe, not very busy, lovely spot to get some breakfast/lunch. The portions are massive and reasonably priced. Staff are really friendly. We ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the club sandwich, both were great. Club sandwich chicken was quite peppery so would avoid it if you don’t like pepper.”
“Superb location. Food is tasty, well prepared and good value for money. Its all vegetarian. Despite being an omnivore, it was simple for us to find good food here. Certainly worth a visit. We will be back”
“Had a beautiful afternoon tea, fantastic service, lovely cakes and sandwiches.. would recommend. Thank you so much.”
“What a lovely hidden gem! I've just had a fantastic vegetarian breakfast and got a lemon muffin to take away. Food cooked fresh to order and very generous portions, I recommend the coffee! Spotlessly clean and spacious with great service, I'll definitely be back.”
“This cafe is lovely little venue located above the ashbourne tunnel starting along the tissington trail. I love their colourful lounger chairs they have outside in the green in the summer, and this is one of the main reasons which attracted me to the cafe. Lovely cakes and drinks. Lovely in the sunshine.”
“Amazing place. I've never been, I don't even live in the UK, but my mate Willz met a guy there in a Buxton t-shirt and sent a photo to me. So I knew from that moment that this is the spot!”
“Great vegan options! Oat cakes are delish. Friendly people.”
“Repeat customer the food is always high quality products and nice 5 ⭐️ from us”
“Decent coffee and very tasty toasted sandwich. nice friendly staff. Could do with a shaded area outside.”
“Wow my go too cafe for breakfast from now on . Sooo dog friendly looked after the dogs as well as us. staff are so friendly and food is excellent with generous size portions can’t fault it .”
“lovely food and great service. Some a good time eating here. Bear in mind Friday can be noisy.”
“A big thank you to the staff for their helpfulness and exceeding my expectations. Due to my clumsiness I managed to break 2 bottles of Muled Wine all over the floor in the gents. The friendly security guard was more than helpful in ensuring I was ok & not received any cuts from the broken glass & calmly arranged for the mess to be cleared up, also getting me a new bag & kitchen towels to clean off the rest of my shopping that could be saved. A huge thank you to you.”
