“I attend the KAL Batley tennis and sports centre site. The staff there are very helpful, especially Dan, Tom, Callum, Johnny and Haj?(strength trainer). There are some good group based training sessions. The centre is well equipped.”

“Having tried unsuccessfully to obtain a prescription from 5 different pharmacies, Batley Pharmacy staff went out of their way to order it for me. It was delivered late afternoon and I collected it just after 6pm. Such a bonus they staff open until 10.30pm! The pharmacist also gave me a follow-up call to check the medication was as prescribed as it was an unusual dosage. Very pleased with this service, thank you.”

“this hospital closed some time ago. I guess when Dewsbury District Hospital opened. it was then taken over and opened as carlinghow nurseing home. i am not sure when or why this closed. it would be interesting to find out if anyone knows. rhe building is now boarded up and empty. it looks like there has been a fire on some of the upper floors? and the building is looking pretty sorry for its self. however there is a row of terrace houses opposite which used to be the nurses accommodation and it looks like someone is renovating these.. When it was first built it was used tuberculosis Hospital TB. Pictures two and three show what was the main entrance to the hospital and the entrance to accident and emergency at the other end was the car park and at that side of the hospital there where large balconies that led off the end of each ward. And this this is where are they would sit the TB patients through the day no matter what the weather because in the Victorian Edwardian days of medicines. They truly believed fresh air was the best treatment /cure. for thus disease. which is why it was more often than not fatal!”

Everyone else at the club are really friendly too and always willing to help and I needed alot of it being away from the art for over two years. There was no member of staff at the No. 7 section as the sales assistant had gone home for the day, and Nicola looked after a different make up brand. On approaching her for some help, even though it wasn't her own brand to sell, she really went above and beyond to help me out with matching and choosing the right products for my needs. She even applied them on have me tips how to use them which, for a complete novice like me, was very much appreciated. I have always been extremely nervous to ask for help and feel a little intimidated by all the products and bad experiences with unfriendly staff in the past, and also feeling pressured into buying something I'm not very sure about, but Nicola was lovely and very patient and made sure I was OK with what I'd tried. “Having been sent to mount dental surgery as an emergency dental patient. I can not say anything bad about this dental practice . They were kind right from the receptionist to the dentist from start to finish. They treat me kindly and with respect. The dentist told me everything he was doing ,advised me gave me options . Showed me the xray and explained it . Even the injections didn't hurt . All I can say is I wish they could hdvd taken me on as a permanent patient. Thankypu mount dental surgery Batley”

“We called in for brunch as we were visiting Ikea, just round the corner, and wanted to eat somewhere independent, with good, positive reviews. We certainly didn’t regret eating at Oscars 21. Parking was easy, off the road but just outside the door. There’s 2 hours free parking there, but you can book in at the reception and increase it to 4 hours free. We had a lovely welcome from the lady working there. We both had hot drinks which were really nice. My wife had the porridge with strawberries, banana, goji berries, blueberries and pumpkin seeds. She told me it was delicious, and having tasted a spoonful for research purposes, I can concur that it was really nice. I had the Chicken, Pesto and Pasta Salad, which I have to say was absolutely delicious. Really first class. Lots too. Given the quality, the prices were really very reasonable. We now know exactly where we’ll be eating next time we’re in the area. I’m sorry the photo doesn’t show the full plate full. I couldn’t stop eating it just for your sake(!), and what’s in that photo didn’t last very long before it was gone!”
