“Fab festive menu at the three stags. Table had been decorated with crackers & festive touches. Staff were so lovely & attentive, service prompt & efficient. Had the three course festive menu & every course was really tasty. Good value for money. Couldn’t fault anything at all. Definitely be back!”

“The food was great ..service was too. Sadly we called in on a Wednesday evening which coincided with Bert's Bingo which was good fun with people running all round the pub but it was too loud...too early and not good when people are still dining...but I will say if I wasn't dining I would have probably enjoyed it....maybe next time Bert's Bingo may be a drinks night and dining will be on another day as the food was lovely.”

“My husband and I visited today, we haven’t been here for years but we were instantly welcomed by the friendly ladies that work there. I had the hunters chicken which was delicious, compliments to the chef. Our food arrived very promptly, we will definitely be coming back again soon!”

“I popped in for a pint after a longish walk. I wanted to have a look at this pub after it's refurbished and reopening. I must say that it looks far better and it's very smart. The two young members of staff that I spoke to were extremely pleasant, friendly and polite. I had a pint of Greene King IPA and it was excellent. As good as it gets. And at £4.20 a pint, a bit of a bargain these days. I'll certainly be popping in again.”

“We ate here on a Saturday night at 7pm and the restaurant area was quiet. By the time we left, the bar area had started to get busier but it didn't disturb us in the quiet food section! We had the ribs and a Caesar salad. The ribs were fantastic and the meat fell clean off the bone. The salad was also very tasty but didn't come with the croutons that the menu said they would, and as a result we felt it was missing something that the crunch from the croutons likely would have added. We were told they didn't have any at all and no alternative was offered which was disappointing, but the staff were otherwise incredibly friendly and happy to help. We had a lovely experience overall, and I highly recommend the ribs.”

“Was there today and it as an amazing afternoon. Pub was very clean, staff where so friendly and welcoming as soon as we went in. Drinks where perfect, they where hosting a weekly local event for those pensioners in need due to cost of living, who could be in need of hot or cold drinks and hot or cold food. Staff went out of their way to help everyone, they had entertainment on in the form of disco, karaoke and even games of bingo. Never seen so much effort put in to help locals who may be in need of help due to cost of living. Whole experience was amazing and staff going out their way. 10* rating for our visit, absolutely exceptional pub and staff. Will be visiting again. Thank you and well done to management and all the staff.”

“Went here for one drink after work and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was so great and all of the customers where very friendly. Needless to say, my drink after work on a Friday lasted until Saturday afternoon. The happy vibes and entertainment sure made me feel young again. What an amazing night.”

“Visited here instead of the Hoole village one as it was fully booked on Sunday. What a breath of fresh air, no staff running around like the place is on fire. Host when we entered was very chatty and friendly. Doesn’t feel cramped at all compared to hoole, no massive queue for the carvery either, all in all for a family get together it was lovely relaxed and would definitely visit again instead of the Chester one.”
