The Bow Legged Beagle in Upton is just the ticket if you're after somewhere genuinely cosy with a cracking atmosphere. It's got that lovely, welcoming feel as soon as you walk in, making it super easy to relax and settle in. For us real ale fans, it's a bit of a paradise. They've always got a constantly changing line-up of real ales on, which is brilliant because there's always something new to try. And the best part? The real ale is always really reasonably priced, which is a breath of fresh air these days! And if craft beer is more your thing, you're still well looked after. They've got an extensive collection on tap, plus a fridge packed with cans and bottles. Whatever you fancy, chances are they've got it. Service here is spot on too. The staff are genuinely friendly and really know their stuff when it comes to the beers they're serving. Happy to chat and give recommendations if you're not sure what to go for. “I went to the Wirral Tandoori yesterday (29/09/25) for the first time in ages, as I no longer live in the area. The manager and staff were warm and welcoming, making me feel like I’d never been away. The food, as always, was absolutely delicious. The chicken pathia in particular was outstanding — without doubt the best I’ve ever tasted — perfectly balanced with a rich depth of flavour and a lovely lemon zing that lifted the whole dish. It reminded me exactly why the Wirral Tandoori has always been a favourite: great service, fantastic food, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes the journey back more than worthwhile.”

“What a gem! We’re staying nearby and this was our closest takeaway when we couldn’t be bothered to cook. Ordered 3 different main courses and 3 different sides. All were excellent but the noodles were exceptional. Had seen that free prawn crackers were on offer after spending a certain amount but failed to notice until after paying that free spring rolls were also available for a higher spend but our bill was 10p short! The staff gave us the freebee anyway. Friendly staff, great food & generous portions at a reasonable price. Highly recommended”

“Superb service, I am based in London and rang on the off chance to get some flowers delivered to a colleague In port sunlight today. Placed my order at 9:45 and the flowers were delivered within 2 hours! Can sometimes be wary about florist and how the flowers might turn up to the person on the other end but they looked amazing! Very happy with the all round service. I come to Liverpool at least 3 times a year and will definitely be using them again! - thank you!”

“We ate here on a Saturday night at 7pm and the restaurant area was quiet. By the time we left, the bar area had started to get busier but it didn't disturb us in the quiet food section! We had the ribs and a Caesar salad. The ribs were fantastic and the meat fell clean off the bone. The salad was also very tasty but didn't come with the croutons that the menu said they would, and as a result we felt it was missing something that the crunch from the croutons likely would have added. We were told they didn't have any at all and no alternative was offered which was disappointing, but the staff were otherwise incredibly friendly and happy to help. We had a lovely experience overall, and I highly recommend the ribs.”
