Refectory Café
“What a place to have food and drink! Amazing! This must have been where the monks used to eat. We had the winter vegetable soup. Nice not salty. Atmosphere is really fine.”

“A nice place for a family treat. Good selection of sweet as well as savoury pancakes. Staff are attentive and helpful. The woman who served us was happy and chirpy. The cafe is clean and bright. You can see the pancakes being made, right behind the counter, so you can have confidence in the cooking. I sampled a savoury pancake with cream cheese and smoked salmon, which came with a generous side of rocket. My son had a sweet pancake with Nutella, whipped cream, banana and chocolate sauce. We both enjoyed our food and couldn’t fault it.”
“24 hours on the specimen lake, great facilities. Staff were great, couldn't be any more helpful and polite. One of the cleanest fisheries I have ever been on not a single rat in site!! Will definitely be returning”
“A nice selection of hot drinks ( I like the flavoured tea). Amazing, peaceful atmosphere in the church.”
“Currently, for the summer I recommend a cold mocha frapuccino with an additional shot and cream. Perfect for me. In colder weather, I choose delicious mocha with a shot and cream. For me the best coffee. I don't want Costa coffee etc.”
“Lovely afternoon tea with the family on a beautiful spring day. The afternoon tea selection was excellent - everything very fresh and beautifully presented. We then spent time in the wonderful grounds with so much space for the grandkids to run around and lots of different activity installations to keep them entertained”
“Had a mouth-watering club sandwich with a refreshing berry lemonade at this charming bridge café and bistro — perfectly layered, bursting with fresh ingredients, and served with a smile. Highly recommend stopping by for a delicious bite and drink!”
