She also noticed that it was a birthday for one of us, and took it upon herself to put a candle in her dessert and sing happy birthday. “A last minute booking to take my father out for lunch. I hadn’t been here before , and my father had mixed reviews but I thought the menu looked good. I dont know why it would have mixed reviews, the staff and food were faultless. We were welcomed warmly and seated comfortably by the window. We were attended to quickly through our visit, but never rushed. Between 3 of us we had Bruschetta, Calamari and Gamberoni to start. Followed by Pesce Spada alla Sicilian (2), and Spiedini di Pesce and finished with a cheesecake , affogato and an Espresso. My favourite dishes were the Gamberoni which was a generous portion of prawns bathing in a garlicky butter and spinach sauce, and Pesce Spada , a large piece of swordfish smothered in a rich tomato, olive and caper berry sauce with a fresh and zesty side salad. Thank you to Casa Blanca for brightening a dreary Thursday. We will see you again”

“Veronica was our waitress, she was fantastic! She was attentive and friendly, gave us time when we hadn’t decided on our orders and was very patient with us. She recommended the best ways to use our deals and offers, and helped us to use the app to do this. Our food was good and came quickly, and Veronica made us feel welcome and comfortable. It was quite echoey and loud in the restaurant, hence the 4 stars for atmosphere.”

“1st visit to this lovely Indian restaurant. The food was amazing. For starters, we had garlic mushrooms and vegetable samosa. For the main, I had the garlic lamb curry, and my partner had a vegetable curry and rice. Both were very tasty. The staff we very friendly but sadly the restaurant is closing on 19th May, they will still be offering takeaway and a delivery service but if you can support a local restaurant YOU MUST try this one. I will definitely be having a takeaway from them in the future. I wish them well, and good luck in the future!!”

“We had a lovely lunch at the Woolpack today with my elderly parents. The food was beautiful and the staff were very attentive. Anna, our waitress, was lovely and gave us some good recommendations on the menu. Benji, was very observant and considerate when he saw my elderly father heading towards the toilets (which are upstairs) he followed and kindly opened the disabled toilet for him instead. Lovely place. Highly recommend.”

“Visited for Sunday Roast. The service I wouldn’t say it was the best, but the roast was excellent! Really liked the mashed potatoes and the meat (I chose the turkey option). Would definitely recommend! Dog friendly.”

“Absolutely fantastic food and service. Super accommodating of allergens, loads of veggie options. I genuinely do not understand how this place has any negative reviews. I've ordered from here several times, so here is a breakdown of my experience with them: 1. They have a huge selection of proper vegetarian dishes, whereas most other Chinese takeaways have little-to-nothing. 2. The staff were extremely accommodating of my partner's gluten intolerance, going out of their way to double-check our chosen dishes with the chef, provide allergen information, express their concern over the suitability of other low-gluten dishes etc. and just generally made us feel like they actually care whether he would get sick or not. 3. The food itself is delicious. I mean really, really good. It arrived piping hot, portion sizes were great, and it had clearly only just been cooked (as opposed to pre-made then reheated) because the vegetables were vibrant and still had a lovely crunch to them instead of being pale and soggy. 10/10, highly recommended!”
