“I tend to follow Gareth where he is working as he is incredible. And after having a very bad bleaching experience at a different salon (I was too impatient - bigregret) , I returned to Gareth who has begun a hair repair journey for me. He fixed my colour to make it look much more natural and fit tape extensions to help blend in the broken sections as well as applying keratin treatment. I’ve learnt my lesson and will not be going anywhere else again! On top of his incredible skills and conversation, the canary itself is such a welcoming salon. I’m not a huge fan of the sometimes ‘ clinical’ feel of salons, but here feels relaxed and friendly. I love the fact it has a cafe also meaning and endless supply of coffee during your hair appointment!”

The focus on design skills is crucial to setting you apart from other makers. I'm enjoying the course even though I also have a full time job to balance with the jewellery workload. I highly recommend VS Jewellery School.”

“I visited Inks and Needles in April ‘24 to get a tattoo from Jay, we messaged each other about the design beforehand. Jay’s enthusiasm for his art is absolutely infectious. Everything was clean and hygienic, the aftercare was explained throughly and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I have every intention of coming back for another tattoo as soon as I figure out what I want to have done. While having my tattoo, I noticed the piercer, working with a client. I liked how he talked her through the piercing so decided, spur of the moment to have a helix done. Sandro was happy to talk me through the process, we discussed my existing piercings & he advised me on the most suitable piece for my ear. He explained the cleaning process and advised me to come back to have the bar shortened after 6+ weeks which I did. I recently had to undergo surgery so immediately went to Sandro to have my piercings changed out for plastic retainers. Yesterday I went back again to have the piercings changed back and took the opportunity to have another helix. Again, Sandro was wonderful, helping me choose a huggie for the helix he’d done in April and a cute little flower for the new helix. Everyone at Inks and Needles is so friendly, very professional and extremely knowledgeable, you immediately feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. I have recommended Inks and Needles to everyone and anyone who has asked about my piercings and tattoos. Lovely bunch of people!”

“I recently got an Egyptian design tattooed by Adie at Renaissance Tattoo and I honestly couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I walked into the studio, it was clear I was in good hands. The space is spotless, calm, and welcoming—everything feels very professional yet personal. Adie took the time to truly listen to what I wanted. He didn’t just copy a reference image; he asked great questions about which symbols meant the most, how bold I wanted the shading, how fine the lines should be, what kind of style (realism, black & grey, etc.) I was leaning toward. He sketched with precision, explained the process and what to expect from healing, and made me feel confident every step of the way. When it came to the tattooing itself, I was amazed. The detail in the Egyptian motifs was immaculate. The black & grey work is smooth; contrast is strong but tasteful; every line is sharp, every curve intentional. During long stretches, he checked I was okay, let me take breaks when needed, kept the atmosphere relaxed (some good music, friendly chat), which helped more than I expected. What really stands out about Adie is not just his technical skill, but his intelligence and deep respect for what he’s creating. He clearly has a strong background—not just in art, but in understanding the meaning behind the imagery. I learned about his interest in Egyptology and theology during our consultation, and it made me trust that the symbols I’d chosen would be treated with care. Aftercare advice was excellent. He explained what to do (and what not to do), how the ink might settle or fade, how certain quirks are natural, etc. Now that the tattoo is healing, it looks even better than I expected—crisp, beautifully saturated, and still holding up strong. Overall, Adie at Renaissance Tattoo is outstanding. If you want an artist who is not only tremendously talented, but also intelligent, committed, communicative, and someone who cares about both the design and your comfort, you’ll be hard pressed to do better. I absolutely love my Egyptian design, and I can’t wait to go back for more. Highly, highly recommend.”
