Atmosphere in Purley

“My girl Aura stayed at Purley Cattery for a week. My Dad dropped her off for me and he was very happy with the cattery and felt that Aura was in great hands. I picked her up on my return and she settled in back home immediately. A big thank you to Paul & the team, they are lovely people and I will certainly use Purley Cattery again when I go away next. “Been here before to pick up just avocado maki; this time I was in a rush so explained this to the shop owner who was professional and polite, said he could make me up a sushi box in the 10 mins I had if I chose quickly. After changing my choice a couple of times he was patient enough to go with it and I settled on the Omega Box (8 Salmon & Avocado Rolls, 6 Salmon Maki, 6 Avocado Maki) which came with soya sauce, wasabi paste (firmer and drier than usual sushi box wasabi, possibly better quality?) - with a 10% takeaway discount it came to £11.69. Sushi rice was room-temperature (as best enjoyed), well-seasoned and good texture, fresh-tasting fish and avocado, with a good amount of filling in the salmon & avocado rolls; really enjoyed and plan to return!”

“Called in for a few drinks while in the area. This is a "proper" old school pub which is rare these days! The lady serving was lovely and helped us with some local knowledge of bars in the area. Good pint of Guinness”

Every time I’ve been to Purley Dragon, the food has been incredible — always hot, fresh, and full of flavour. The portions are generous, and you can tell everything is made with care. The staff are genuinely some of the nicest people you’ll meet. They’re polite, welcoming, and always happy to accommodate special requests or dietary needs. You can tell they really care about their customers and want everyone to have a great experience. The restaurant is always clean, cosy, and has such a warm atmosphere — it’s perfect for a takeaway night or a casual meal out. I’ve tried a lot of Chinese places around the area, and none come close to the taste or service here. If you’re hesitating because of the negative reviews, don’t. Give Purley Dragon a try — you’ll see for yourself how wrong those comments are. Once you do, you’ll never go anywhere else for Chinese again!”

“I recently came across Anu on Facebook and I'm so glad I did! The moment I made contact with her she was professional, friendly and welcoming. It was my first visit to the Purley Salon and I was impressed with the set up. I've always been worried about people touching my eyebrows, but Anu created such calmness in the room. She reassured me through her body language, her approach and professionalism that I was in good hands- I definitely was! Anu remained calm and didn't rush at all when threading my eyebrows. She stopped and explained what was happening at each stage, giving me a few check points in the mirror. If you are looking for eyebrow threading, it's an absolute must you visit Anu!”

“Simply Stunning!! Valentines afternoon tea for all the family, we visited as a family age range 3y-68y and there was something for everyone. The food was fresh and extremely tasty, the venue itself was beautiful so special and has perfect photo opportunities and the service was outstanding it felt very personal with lots of extra special touches.
