Piccione - chargrilled, spatchcocked Pigeon marinated in chianti classico and autumn herbs with Coco Bianchi and chicken liver crostino was meticulously executed and this particular dish so memorable. Yeah that didn't sound like food review because it was beyond just cooking and presenting tasty food. I enjoyed the precision of the cooked food. No diner would miss the point. I had to admit I was a bit skeptical when primi was served with no presentation at all, but I guess that was the chef's statement of unpretentious food. Loved the tiramisu, too, a real proper one, not any layered sugary cake using that name to confuse the market.”

“Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here, fresh well cooked food and a great charity. The Shakshuka was perfectly flavoured with an excellent range of spices and depth of Middle-Eastern flavours. Mushroom soup was delicious and the sourdough bread was soft with a crunchy outside. The Salhev (coconut creamy drink with pistachios) is one of my personality favourites - and highly recommend. The entire restaurant has great service, lovely decoration and atmosphere, and with excellent food!”

“Lovely staff, great atmosphere and community feel and pretty table decorations perfect for Winter! Had the Pumpkin spiced latte and Mexican corn fritters with a poached egg. All was lovely but the poached egg was a little cold. I fed this back to staff who were very kind and to make up for this, provided me with a free coffee on the house, so I tried the Gingerbread Latte. The cafe is in a good location next to the Rookery and at the top of Streatham Common. It’s perfect for a pre or post walk around the area. Recommend a visit.”

Perfect if you just want a coffee to carry on your day, but if you're interested in food, though their offerings may look limited, they're all delicious! Having only tried a couple items, I can't say this with complete certainty, but will absolutely be coming back to put my money where my mouth is. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area, you won't regret it! Pictures posted are the Skylark breakfast and their current Pink Velvet Hot Chocolate, which my wife was very happy with.”
